since Dec7th...

didnt know its been that long since i blog. its been crazy. for those who know me mit jus say sick again... yah sick again BAD FLU... its been awful... trust me i dun wana be sick. no time to fully recover and then gana hit again. I HATE FLU! whatever... still recovering...

anyway heres updates on days i was missing... thou sick was very busy. To read scroll from bottom... trying to remember as much as i can... testing poor memory...

Friday dec 20th : baking day. went to pick nesa to go town. we headed to isetan where i was dying to lay my hands on a hot cuppa himalayan tea latte.... the indian guy was so nice and prob oso at 9.15am he's pretty free! haha he made my little cousin so happy! dun say her i envied his creation... either its rabbit or bear... nesa think it is rabbit... she loved it and refused to throw in her mashmellow to destroy her cuppa hot choc... mines not too bad.

we waited for isetan to open and we were the first few in the shop. love it quiet not crowded! went to kitchen dept cos was looking for utensils and i sent nesa to toys section and when we were done shopping and i was happy with my buy, she was upset that the m&m house opens only at 12.30 and we were heading baack to TPY by 11.30 cos my fren joyce was coming to bake cupcakes. got her to pose for me and she's as crazy as i am! brought her to wheelock's paper crafting shop and she loved it there and i was stuck there lookng for paperstock!

met joyce had lunch then went to get ingredients and started baking since 2pm till nite 9.30pm then i was done with cleaning up but mopped the floor till 11pm! LOVE my new toy! its incredible! LOVE the "tiffany blue"!!! LOVE my kitchen aid! i didnt take many photos of our bake but joyce did so wil have to wait for her photos. mines simpler cos i never put decorated sugars like hers thou. hope her bf loved her hardwork! the new favours we tried were good!


Thursday 19th dec : my first day of hols. Haji. i jus nuah at home cos weather so cooling till chilling! packed up the presents i got and threw BAGS of trash outa room cos i had little time to sort and no space so have to clear!!! so dam tired but room still messed cos too many things little space...

Wednesday 18th dec : Last day of the term winter hols finally here. xmas party for kids and i was given vouchers from GoldenV $70 and $100 taka vouchers! I have $200 home tangs vouchers and cannot wait to use them! I have missed many shows like enchanted and i wana catch national treasures on big screen! Love voucher shopping get the things i usually will hesistant. also i have free, 2 cooking class to attend for the demo of my kitchen aid. Gave my collegues the little cupcakes as gift... jus one each cos they all have so many sweets that morning from school xmas bkfast.

after school took a cab and headed to thomson medical centre to meet mum. we were there to see gynae for my problem... the gynae was the one who delievered us 3 siblings! and oso 4 other cousins were oso delivered by him! wait was long from 3.40 i registered went delifrance to have lunch/tea... back at gynae at 5pm.... i was last in the list saw the doc at 7pm! when we were paying up the F-up nurse banging things and making endless grumbles and really F-up! well she dun do that to the rest who hog the line its not fair we were last and we were considered fast! dam it! anyway gog to check up and do scans in Jan... then will know how i am doing!


Tuesday dec 17th: after school, met ann and went to phoon huat at sembawang to grab a few more stuff for baking. by the time we started at mums place, was oredi 5.30pm! baked batches and batches till 8.30pm then we were doned! didnt take many pics cos mostly to be decorated the next day and i was dam tired! started to use my "professionals tools"!

Monday dec 16th: Didnt know what to get for my tcher yet!!! suggested to Gx we go vivo... dun like the place but heard from my tcher she spent a bomb there on clothes and i tot of finding vouchers for her but i can't decide which shop to get from... went to dian xiao er to q and was glad q was moving fast! being 2nd in the q then u will never guess... the whole shop blackout! yah only that shop! DARK! DAM! after 15mins i asked if they still serve dinner... then group of prob kitchen people walked out to smoke.... we left and saw a less crowded figs and olive place... food ok. not fantastic.

popped in to my favourite bookshop, Page one. Loved it here and i started browsing and it hit me to just get the vouchers here for my tcher who loves books! i got her a pair of guess earrings too! headed home after a visit to Fengshui shop.


Sat dec 15th : xmas party 10 days before 25th! its was soooo last minute cos uncle's family will be away and wot be able to join us at the east coast chalet. so last minute potluck! and i indicated the dishes for each family! didnt load fotos cos haven got time to load from the otehr camera! will do so cos arthur my cousin cooked for the whole family, his first time! a huge portion of spag and he wasnt used to it cos usually his max is 4-5 pax! loved the pesto sauce! had so much food! everyone loved the oxtail soup, its was my favourite before...


but i x have it anymore. painful! Lucas was so cute and so glad he loved the shark we got for him! for the gals i got them same but different colour bags, necklace and headbands!



we played secret friend this year. 1st time we had a total change to our xmas gift exchange at home. I tot its quieter and a nicer game to play as a family. i was thinking of my grandfather and wished he was still around, missed his smile. aunt k like this gift-exchange cos its a warmer feel and we all have to think and make an effort to get the gift. had a good time and oso definitely a good laugh with my BIG family!!! LOVE my family, mushy but true. the gifts each of us got was an effort and i enjoyed it! i got a necklace as i wrote accessories. it jus came on time! cos i will be wearing to Koh Samui on Jan4th, its something that i dun have! i usually buy long necklaces and beads, my aunt got me something thats made from seashell and thanks to my aunt who got good taste!


Fri dec 14th : got our 1st xmas gift! from his army collegue who is very kind to him at work and nice to chat with! she always pass me mags when she's done and not past issue its like 1st -2nd week of the month i get the mags! jus today i gave her 4little cupcakes and a fengshui book for xmas... hope she likes them.

we headed out to meet dap at esprit cos i told her about gerald's favourite berms being ripped during the wash in the machine... his favourite thus least worn but the 1st to ripped. i gave that to him as a present! dap was able to help us out and my dear hubby paid for 2 gold tops and a 3qurt pants. SWEET! he himself got only a berm and he was lucky cos hardly any berms for winter fashion seasons...


as dap went for her appointment, me and Gx parted too to find our secret friend gift! we both obeyed the rules that i set with his help! not to tell who your secret fren is. he went taka and i went paragon! first i gota help mum with hers. She didnt break the rules! she jus tell me buy cd... i was like HUH what kind of music so she decided and i chose from instrumental range! she refuse to tell me who, told her i wot say and will get the rite kinda disc but she refused! yet she was so cheeky at times that she try to trick me say who i am buying for!


in the end it was like a triangle... i buy for aunt k and in turn she got my mum as secret fren! at this point when i am writing this the game is over! it was fun then as i made everybody open their gift one at a time and they were supposed to guess who bot the gift.


glad we managed to buy something for our secret fren and i was starving!!! headed to crystal jade XLB. it was LOOOOONG Q~ no way cos i was STARVING! then gerald was like lex go to the other... i was like shocked... cos the other one is the poshed CJ and i was like in normal working school clothes.... i like to dress up to go certain places.... he jus head in and we got a table... as there is only 2 of us its always hard to order food esp here cos its serving is huge and here its more ex... but gx revealed he got bonus and was giving me atreat...

I was feeling sick from the shopping very exhausted and feeling a flu coming thus nose blocked... i felt that it was a waste to be eating at a goof restaurant... drowned cups of hot tea and thank goodness i still could taste the food well! YUMMY! but couldnt really smell... but better then losing both senses! i knew i wanted the WONGKAM prawns, salted egg fried prawns! these were yummy! got the captain to recommend and she told us they had nice big scallops! supposed to have one each but it turn out they left jus one! so she ordered a bamboo clam for us. i like the bamboo clam better! but the scallop was huge and not bad.

this is the crazy part... we both eyed the lotus seafood steamed glutinous rice... we tried to change to other dishes after the lady captain told us ... its really big and its meant for 4-5 people... and more over she didnt say but i know that glutinous rice is very filling... but we still went ahead!

its crazy when i came! its HUGE!!!! gx was the 3 pax and i was 1pax! cos for this dish i taste seafood sweetness and nice texture but was pretty bland to me in comparison to the other 3 dishes. Gx say cos i x smell... its got very nice fragrance... sad... but he enjoyed it so much! it got prawns, dried scallops and lots of goodies in it!

Yes we are very full but i never end without desserts! got the mango pomelo sago dessert but was ok only, loved the stewed pear dessert. it was cold and soothing for my sore thoart! love this clear not too sweet soup. why is there no pics of me? cos gx used his new camera hp to take me and has yet to try downloading into lap yet. we never tried to take pic with the prob tallest indoor xmas tree in spore. so we tried to get a shot cos we walked passed it and wasnt crowded but jus seems like lots of lites.


think this was on a sunday... if not a sat : met up with dap to see hp at m1 cos gx wanted to get a hp. dun remember why we met up... failing memory but i remember after gx finally got his hp we went to project shop cafe. 1st time there and we ordered 2 desserts. they were huge serving and not bad but was glad it was 3 people sharing it!

i am updating following the order of the pic i took... in between i fell ill had 2 days of mc and till now better but yet to be fully recovered! i need to recover soon to enjoy bbq tomolo and upcoming hols in Koh Samui with 2 other couples!

easy dessert ii

half day today... took cos signed up for easy dessert class. met a long time no see and hard to meetup friend who just returned to singapore. very very long time no see fren. not much changes still like to argue with me and more to tease cos of my size now comparison to when i was 21... as years pass not only age ascending but on the scale too! glad to have met up and it be for a long time till we meet again.

rushed to holland v for lesson. with lots of courage cos i find it difficult to make the first move to approach the chef owner of the school. but i really need to know... so i found a perfect quiet timing when she was not busy, silence in the class and approached her. I find her intimidating but she is nice after she nicely and kindly shared her answer with me. Think she was surprise cos so far no one mentioned anything about the poached pears. I really like the pears. Told her i liked pears and ate a pear tart in Nice which i loved so much! she must be surprise to hear Nice. But that was a pear poached in white wine. With her advice i hope to make my pear tart sometime soon... i want my own kitchen! i wana do anything i wan in my own kitchen! its always easier to dirty own place and not mum's or mil's... glad i talked to her.

today's lesson mostly chocolate. chocolate tart, chocolate pots, chocolate mousse, creme brulee, sticky date toffee pudding and eggnog. like the tart best. like last week's lesson better. but was good to see how she does the creme brulee but was a little too sweet. and there were 3 sas teachers who were late for class cos they headed straight after school which ended 3.15pm and as it was raining they were very late!

menu for today

chocolate pots which i yet to try. took the one that was favoured mint. hope it will be good. looks very thick. like the presentation in espresso cups and shotglass. if its good i will do this someday! haha when is someday? i wonder.

chocolate mousse in a HUGE bowl. bitter choco and i mean bitter. was thick and but too bitter the choc is really good stuff but dun know if its was bcos ate the creme brulee which was too sweet for me that affected the taste...

chocolate tarlets and presentation of mousse in martini glass. creme brulee texture was soft and the caramelised top was cripsy but too sweet!

sticky date toffee pudding was ok nicer than the pudding i eat at hotel buffets. dun think many of my friends or family will like this very much cos of its moist texture. some may feel its like eating uncook cake? not many that i know of like to even try puddings.

after class went into an interesting shop and bot some xmasy stuff for kidos and i myself love the things in there and managed to get 2 pairs of glasses for myself. like them lots!

YES DAP! xmas started way long time ago in nov for me!

this friday gog to check out easy dessert ii, looking forward to see how to bake chocolate tarts with of cos chocolate filling! proper way of doing creme brulee... then sat will be family xmas meeting! yup selecting secret pal for xmas exchange. gog to teach the kidos carols... hope they will do a good job cos only left one week. sunday dinner at expo. next sat 15th would be our xmas party 1 cos uncle's family gog overseas. then 23rd bbq at chalet 24th xmas dinner with my in-laws and 25th rest day and of cos 26th boxing day shopping! 29 or 30th haven set yet but will be gx mini farewell party for some of his campmates. and 31st dinner at pines, too bad gx had to work, prob join us after he knocks off...

in betweens: game organising, presents hunting, wrappiing presents! school xmas art and craft and party, cupcake baking with kids at home, have to go ikea for tiramisu trays, shot glasses, frames, candles... lots more! planning for holiday trip in january. no more japan but welcome thailand. dun know where exactly yet. my school hols starts 20th... buts with busy schedule pretty much in a hols mood! and so fast we say goodbye to 2007... a matter of a few weeks and boom 2008!

Dreadful? Sad? Fulfiling? Tired!

bWhats new thats what lot of people would say TIRED TIRED TIRED. i dare to say and nag so be it! i am not fake please remember that. body not in good condition. trying to recover and yes gog to go for my regular checkup again... NOTE : remember to make life easier for others cos life contains more than jus one segment. stop thinking that one is always right.

tabby last day. she sang a song for all of us and my eyes rained. dread monday. left after lunch today and headed for holland v. while on my way on the train, caught up with serena who i haven met or chatted with for a long time. ate a milkpan for lunch. lazy to walk around so i just shop and sat at cooking school since 1.45pm.

things i bot toda... at school at cambodia tabitha fair got xmas decor chart, silver earrings and a necklace. at cooking school, bot 2 boxes of tea, loads of boxes, a tiny mini spatula... and

today's 5 easy desserts.

chocolate cloud cake - flourless, bittersweet chocolate... verdict: alittle too dry.

Valrhona Chocolate slice. haven try brought it home to share with gx. seems not bad thou but very rich. the droplets seems a better option we tried the bars which seems too much.

tiramisu. glad to see live demo. not bad need more liquer thou. that will be my kind of tiramisu!

maple honey walnut oats pie. foolproof nice but a little sweet.

at class not many say the pears poarched in red wine with spices was their favourite, this is actually one of my favourite. i love pears esp when they are soft! for the 1st time i tried eggnog. its was good. i like it but dun think i will do this thou but anyone willingly to try i wan a cup!

very nice they gave us xmas plates and heres the portions i tried. next week attending easy desserts part ii.
