Friday 25th : lucky me! Rosie who is my sas collegue, make pretty necklaces. instead of wearing the school orange nylon tag yard, she makes cool chains which is prettier to wear with our name tags. i bot quite a few from her, i am her supporter! so she was so kind to surprise me with another chain! she knows i love colours! i like it alot! think in all now i have about 6!

Saturday 26th : tuition was cancelled cos the gals are sick. that gave me time to rest cos i feel very tired. gx decided to drive to town. unexpected cos we hardly ever drive to town. suppose to meet 12.30pm, received a mgs that say dun be late... we were late. cos stuck in jam. got there at 12.45pm. saw p & s at the restaurant going into the room. they were not the 1st thou cos J was oredi in the room. the organiser was late for almost 45mins! Waraku Japanese restuarant. i ordered the set with scallop paper steamboat and gx ordered teriyaki chicken don.

seriously the food ok only not fantastic. i still think sushi tei is better, esp the scallops, i like the miso at ST better. of cos there are more authentic restuarants but yet to go try them out. s is such a darling. managed to ask her to take a pic with me cos i say take a pic with her snowy (her toy lamb).

this pic taken by s. yes i lent my camera to kids all the time! we did take group pic but not sure if they mind so better not upload, anyway J left when we took the pic. after which we left and headed to my tcher's housewarming. her new apartment is at Rivervalley. never been into orchard apartments.

we were like the 4th visitors and soon many more sas tchers came. i was glad some of these tchers talked to us, regardless who we are. many interesting things learnt in the conversations i had. i really find these tchers so brave to leave home and work in a foreign land. there is this tcher who actually teach japanese in sas. he's leaving to go back to japan to teach english. the walkway at the lobby is filled with glass art something similiar to ritz greenhouse.

head home to pack the ice-cream and stuff to mums. mum cooked the yummest blackbean porkribs, so soft! after dinner the boys went to w house to watch soccer and i stayed to play with twins. after which we went to send PIL home and then went for bowling at safra yishun. 12mn -3am. our team lost 2nd round of chicken wings and 3rd round of drinks to the other team!

Sunday 27th : woke up late. so tired and rushed out to meet sis at ck tangs cos she got staff discount. went to buy kido's bdae present. i was happy with my buy. ann and sis oso got presents. almost bot a watch for myself but was rejected by many... xianz there goes my armani. walked to paragon and sis was excited when she saw 20% at metro. she wanted to get wedding shoes and she wanted me to help her check it out. found 2 pairs that matched her gowns but they were 4inch high! i dun wana stand next to her cos i scared gana stepped by her thin sharp heels! and will feel short! gx received a call from pat asking us out for dinner. and they came by to pick us up. sis and ann and d continue to shop.

pat chose this restaurant at serengoon gardens. when she told us that she's bringing us to eat foi gras, my heart beat very fast! i was searching in my memory where could this place be and oso its been a long time since i been there. pat and sam are gx's mentors. pat teaches me alot about daily things. esp how i see things. they are very nice people.

this place is in between cafe cartel and coffeebean, think its called the friends and wine. the place is quite cosy, the chairs here have short legs, all low seats. pat ordered 2 portion of foi gras which was really good! would love to go back for more! a dozen of oyster - really fresh and huge! had 3 each! the portebello mushroom with cheese was not bad. i find the mushroom alittle small thou. the mushroom soup is pretty raw taste to some but i love it. its the fresh kind of mushroom blended into a soup.

Pat, gx and me shared the lamb shank, blue cheese-bacon-mushroom pizza. Sam got prawn spag. lamb was ok could have been better. the blue cheese alittle strong compared to the normal mozzeralle cheese. but i like it but must have red wine in-between bites! the red wine was ok. pat only takes dessert when there is people who shares cos she doesnt have very sweet tooth. ordered a chocolate lava cake which took 25mins. pretty usual for this cake cos they need to serve this hot thus they only make when u want to eat. not as good as the wine company's! the flowy chocolate was nice but not the cake. we were very full and they wanted us to join them for more wine at their place but i had another project to do so they sent us home.

Monday 28th : still got present today! its from my sil.

the present in the white box is from italy. she was in florence for a week for work. lucky gal! the pouch she got it here in spore. she couldnt get me the real bottle so she got me this! i really like it alot! when i opened the box, i do hope this is a good omen. i like the ladybug alot! its very pretty. and its so cute with the little baby ladybug on the big one!

can be opened to store precious gems! love it!

am very sorry to tabby, serena and huiyi for cancelling the meetups and having to rearrange to some other time cos i have urgent projects on hand and oso gx company dinner on wed. sorry! guess i really have to try to slim down in may cos may end will have L's bdae party. and then june and july hols! nesa and ann's bdae in june. look forward to family bowling day too!

i am one. Thirty-one. many thoughts before bdae but had a pretty happy week and can't be happier on my birthday! Exactly at 12mn, i hit enter and was so glad that i managed to wish myself on my own blog at strike of mn. laugh all you want. pretty happy about it actually. then of cos at the strike of mn, gx wished me, he's the 1st. then my mil and fil gave me an angbao. then ser, 1st fren to send me bdae wishes.

seriuosly i hate waking up early on my bdae and go to work. but ever since in this line i find that its bearable cos the day can be quite fun cos little ones in school get pretty excited over bdaes. especially if they need to keep secrets. they find it fun. the whole day my students jus kept smiling at me wish me, ask me loads of questions. a group of boys even told me that cos i was doing duty at sandpit area, they came to keep me company... sweet cheeky bunch. cos school circulate daily updates, they annouce everybody's bdae. went for breakfast and many collegues wished me and of cos they oso ask the important question. HOW OLD ARE YOU! oso at the same time many frens send me bdae messages. I feel very happy throughout the whole day.


i line the cookies over a nice teddy bear napkin and i ribboned my tcher's huge chocchipcookie. from the parents this year, alison's mum came with this cupcake platter. so sweet. lilac! she pipped the words... HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELSIE... my very own cupcakes! so weird that the children all chose letterings instead of the flowers.

then came the "surprise" my tcher got a project gog the whole week when i was out for breakfast! the class did a video. i was so taken in when i watch it on the class screen... each of them in alphabetical order, had a pic chosen by my teacher, then the children chose their own effect, type in their own name and they record their bdae message for me. as i watch i was controling... they are all so adorable. and they made me tear. esp when one said thank you, i melted and couldn't control. he need alot of one to one attention and sometimes i wonder if he knows i put in effort and yes i know now. my tcher teased me when she saw me tear and i thanked her. my tcher uploaded the video on class web - click on Our Birthday Movie for Ms Elsie. http://pseagle.sas.edu.sg/mmorton/

after school, i went for easa... Mr P was out, sick and i work with Ms W for the 1st time. think 15 mins after we start, firealarm sounded! walk the little ones all the way down, false alarm then we all climb 3 floors up. gx was suppose to come get me but he was still in town buying my cake. i rushed for the bus and i made it and lucky me cos it was raining pretty heavily. he pick me up at station and we made our way to The Wine Company @ evans lodge.

we reach there at about 5.15pm and we chose to seat indoors and we made the right decision cos we had the whole room to ourselves for almost throughout our meal. i ordered the tea set that came with a pot of tea. and gx ordered fish & chips. and of cos i ordered what i came for. Chocolate Molten Cake.

told gx not to buy me gift cos he paid for my cakes and paid for some of the bbq food. he was late cos he went to buy my gift. i pretty much was able to guess wallet cos i really need one. he's pretty observant. he even knows when its a new pair of shoes! he asked me to guess the colour and only when i named every colour ...then i think of tiffany blue. pretty excited to see it as i unwrapped and i love it!

he got me Agnes B' wallet! love the colour! my kitchen aid, my key-ring and now a tiffany blue wallet! love it! he' s got pretty good at choosing something i like, he told me this is new season. i went thru the last season and didnt fancy anything. YEAH, new wallet at last!

fish and chips was nice. crispy. would love black malt vinegar but didnt ask for it. my tea set comprise of 3 finger sandwich of cucumber, salmon and egg. 2 mini scones with cream, butter and marmalade. mini cheesecake (not nice for me cos its very light) and a fruit tart - like this better.

its a very simple place but i like the place. we enjoyed the place for ourselves for very long. the others all chose to seat outdoor, the place is sheltered and many of them eating, drinking and smoking.

this is what i came for! the other time with uncle and his associates, they ordered 4 to share and my uncle had one for himself. i had a spoonful and fell in love with it. its one of the better ones i have tried so far. full of chocolate! the other time was biz so never take pics and didnt blog about it cos its better with pics. the other time the ice-cream melted cos weather was hot.

we enjoyed the ice-cream that had fine chopped peanuts sprinkled over it. the scoop was served on a chinese soup spoon. they decorated the ice-cream with white chocolate leave and a ladybug!cutez. love the "hot" chocolate that flows out from the cake! the blueberries were sweet. loved this!


this is the outdoor area which is at the back of the indoor area. i quite like this place but i prefer it when its quiet, not so crowded.

went to dabao prawn mee form tpy lor 1 and rushed home to eat dinner with mum. aunt s fried the mackerals and mum did the "drunken" prawns.... smelt so good!!! prawns taste so good!

i chose this classical flavour for mum's place. told sis the clue and she's smart straight away guessed blackforest. gx don't really like blackforest but no choice cos its my bdae. mum loved it. there's cherry liquer taste in this cake, esp in the chocolate pieces at the sides and on top of the cake. the fresh cream is not scary! its light. cake is from rive. love their cakes!

fetch my in-laws home then cut my next cake from rive! gx chose the mango cake.
