9th Anniversary and famly dinner & concert.

today is a stay home day. nothing much completed thou...caught harry on msn to congratulate him! he's married today in perth (i think). went to spa and we changed the ladies who are nice to us but gx isn having a "unbalance" massage... the lady tend to forget to do certain steps on one side and rush thru sometimes and think he had enough of it. we waited for 30mins and we just look at the coral tank to pass time...

today, the ladies ok, not that i feel very good after the massage thou... i think we got 11 more sessions. by then would the question be jacuzzi tub vs concubine tub? got tako p for mil. went home for dinner as pil off today.

saturday .
morning up for tuition and forgot to bring hp! dun know why of all days there is jam! i knew gx was in the jam but didnt expect him to be 40 mins late! i was fuming but things cannot be helped.... head to holland v... with so litttle time my original choice was scrapped. i chose vietnamese food instead. i ordered pork chop rice with fried spring roll and he ordered beef noodles. he had viet coffee and i ordered a avocado aloe vera dessert that came with coconut ice-cream. i like my rice alot but not the spring roll.


after which we walked to my favourite bakery Provence. to my surprise they dun have milk pan! OMG! i reluctantly pick up a bag of wassant and paid up. there were so many packets of choc wassant! wheres my milk pan!!! i turned back to ask if its ready... she said 15mins more... gx had to be in tpy in 15mins... she went to checked and came back saying 5mins... he waited and i got 4! when i got home it was still hot! have to eat it thou i was full... he knows i am crazy over it.

went to class with him and i stayed for as long as i can and then i rushed home to shower and change for the BIG nite out! he came home and he changed into the top i got for him for anniversary! hop into the car, picked aunt family and we head to no signboard at oasis. something cropped up and made me mad and i had to handle a situation... and i didnt take fotos of the dishes we had for dinner. dinner was on uncle J and uncle J. we chose here cos then we can gather for dinner and walk over to the stadium. first time i go with WHOLE family! last time was micheal jackson but not everyone went.


think we were all excited cos as family watching concert thou many young ones ... dun understand cantonese or know all his songs... also premier gate, i knew it on friday that we are getting the most expensive tickets so i was more calm when in receive the tickets... i sat most ex for eason but that was at expo... to me i dun watch many concerts and for me, 1st time walking thru premier gate at indoor... always envied people who sat near stage indoor. we did our calculations... 24 x $190... my uncle has a very big heart. esp my aunt o who organised it, she is really nice. Sam Hui is an icon of our lives in the 70s and 80s... i grew up listening to cantopop... he's one of my all time favourite. he's talented and has got a very special voice. his songs has meaningful meanings. among the kidos, i know most of his songs. think my sis and bro should remember some of his songs cos i used to play his songs at home on the stereo and on piano. i was afraid at the same time... i prepared tissue just in case... what happens if he didnt sing my favourite song? i was pretty excited cos i watched his last concert and tot that was last and never expect to see sam sing again! closer somemore!

Thursday...

1st eaT!
my dear fren dap took a day off just to go out with me! we decided to to head to great world city where we would hardly visit cos its very out of the way. she brought me to a shophouse opposite the gwc. i hate crossing roads ESPECIALLY like a 4 lane road. so wide and worse of all with 2 side lanes connecting to the 4 lanes! HATE crossing but would have to cos the traffic lights was way too far! had to run across....

we hit lunch time. this place is packed compared to the tong shui cafe next door! endless streams of people! we joined the q and i was pretty hungry and when i saw the food i knew it had standard. moreover its recommended by dap. sure to be good! 2 pax, 6 dishes, 2+1 drinks! the squid was to die for! love the chilli... its very powerful! as u chew and then swallow.... the chilli take effects and aromatic, full of taste and yummy BUT really hot for me! the chicken chilli was sweet but again same effect happens... end effect definitely i am on fire. mayb in school no longer take chilli thus i cannot tahan spicy. love the longtong best! its very good. very full and didnt finish my rice cos we ordered too many dishes but no regrets! oso i drowned myself with 2 cups of drinks to kill the heat!

then with a very full tummy, we ran across the scary road, i am thankful to the drivers as they slow down to let us cross... we walked around great world, went into prob only 3 shops... then we went in search for what we came for... cake. we didnt know where the place was, we were looking for our own place the make us come all the way here!

2nd eaT !
dap's fren tabao a piece of exotic flavour pulot hitam cake for her and she's back to have more. for me, heard about this place that has many types of cheesecake from cousin A. the funny thing is that we didnt expect that the place we were looking for was actually the same place. found my cheesecake place and when we look through we found pulot hitam cheesecake!


personally i find that the cake is not cold enough... thus the cheese was very soft... think the cake here are jap style. i spread the topping evenly as i find that that enhance the cake's flavour strongly... my verdict: ok. mayb the durian one mit taste better. the sweet platter of 6... minitures, u dun get to choose the flavours. out of the 6 i only like the 3 layered cheesecake. the bottom layer - dark chocolate brownie then layered with original cheese topped with chocolate cc with dusted cocoa powder. i never really fancy chocolate cheesecake but this one is pretty rich with help of the brownie. raspberry cc was not too bad. didnt like the pure chocolate cc! think i just like my cheesecake rich in taste, so think i will stick to american style.

the place is pretty comfortable. we sat in circular orange seats. as it was the weekday afternoon, its pretty quiet. i like the miro painting on the wall but i feel that they should have made them much bigger ... better impact.


we were filled and decided to go off to ann siang street to walk. at the bus stop it started drizzling... with dap's small umbrella we will be wet so we walked back into gwc and head to the movies.


the only movie we could catch was Horton... cartoon... we went ahead cos the rest of the time slot are an hour ++ later... didnt want to wander around and we cannot take in anymore food or liquid! it was quiet in the cinema... then kids started to run in... and the flow was non-stop... mostly angmos. well they all mit be from my school as we are having spring break! we both took turns to doze off... too full with all the lights off... nice environment to nap! woken up by the excited indian boy who was sitting 2 seat away from me. thanks to him i still managed to catch the more important parts and yes both of us caught the ending! this show has got many teaching materials in it... http://www.hortonmovie.com/splash.html

3rd eaT !
we didnt know what to do so we went to the basement to walk... walked into a jap fish market. found a Da Paolo shop, we both still prefer the one in holland v. walked the supermarket but we didnt buy anything. i suggested i wanted something salty... like fries and dap agreed... yes we ate again. a large mcdonald fries... we decided to head home... went to takeaway dinner for gx. instead of taking the bus.... we walked from gwc to orchard! we took our time to stroll and it was good for us. walked thru borders and tot i wot spend money here... on the shelf nearest to the entrance... i spotted the author gx is looking for... its was on offer 3 for 2... so i jus grab all 3 books by the author... dap and parted at the traffic junction.

4th eaT !
went to hub to look for gx. everyone teased him about his dinner... thou very full... i took 3 forkfull of the cheesy macaroni cheese from kenny rogers... he ate one of the corn bread which i took a small bite... with a full tummy i went to class with him... the topic was heart dieseases. with my high cholestrol (haven gone back for checks for a very long period) gx wanted me to go listen to the talk...

5th eaT !
after class, joined the team for a drink... i didnt eat. wanted to but the place didnt have anything that was tempting...and i had so much good food the whole day didnt want it to end bad! most if us didnt eat except stev who didnt have dinner! after the teh o, as we are about to leave, pat asked us to go to her house for a drink! so we all went on with part 2 at her place. glad we didnt eat cos we had yummy chicken wings! rojak and otak! this time everyone tucked in! 2 bottles of red opened and everyone look so red! party had to end before 2am as gx had to wake up early to send sis to airport. sil is on a working trip to some parts of china and then to hk.

my eating day did end perfectly. went to bed with only good things!

HOLA!

morning woke up early to settle some graphic work. did warned serena if i cannot finish, i mit have to cancel our niteout! wanted to meet her and have a nite out... i did my best and cos no reply can be given on changes... so nite out was on! went to bishan with gx to find his pants. then he ate dinner and i nibble SOME! hee... he had the shilin chicken chop and instead of oyster meesua... due to low supply oyster... they changed to scallops. right after we finished, serena messaged... perfect timing. i wore one of my new top today!

i chose a spanish restuarant... Bungalow Tapas, Bar and Grill. first time there... whenever gx drove past i always wanted to go there... as i didnt want to go town, so i think for very long time where to go and has got mrt! the prices are steep but the serving is still reasonable... we had sangria. i ordered the red original while serena opt for the white peach sangria... in the end i like the white peach better as it was sweeter as i find red very strong. they really add alot of wine in it! lucky for me serena didnt mind the change! it had apple bits in it! added a crunch to the drink.

behind serena, there is a pool table at the back area.

we ordered 3 types of tapas. potatoes with chorizo sausage - my favourite! love the garlicky, pepper corn taste and the sausage yummy! 2nd time i tried these saugage cos i first learnt it in spanish cooking class!

the dip platter was not bad. its bread with 3 different types of dip. sundried tomato was my favourite, 2nd would be the chopped olives and tomatoes and the least favourite cos tasteless hummus. serena was disappointed with the hummus... too watery for her.

the aubergine with parmansan cheese... i wished there was more cheese while serena thinks its enough... more cheese i would say! need to go with alot of the tomato-based sauce! if not the taste of the "very dark purple almost black in colour, fat, round, big eggplant" - aubergine taste would be pretty strong. still i quite like this dish.

love this dish, the potatoes were creamy soak up the sauce!

as we were taking our time to finish our tapas, the in-charge kept eyeing to clear our table... dun really like this guy... a little beng... not the most courteous one around... but he seems in-charge... the guy on the right in the pic. i wasn't not trying to take the guy, i was taking the lights and the high ceiling.

when he cleared our table, he brot us another dish that we didnt order... the paella... we did tot of ordering the seafood paella but as we need to wait up to 45mins, we didnt order it... anyway it was left on our table... we took a shot of it... stir to see wats in it and we confirmed we didnt order as we didnt want to wait and if we did order it wot be the meat paella. got that guy to take it away! we were too full to eat any of the grains!

left the place to walk around united square but pretty fast we settle for dessert at bakins inn. serena chose the opera while i went for the lavender chocolate cake. i chose it cos it was triangular and the moist chocolate coating was very tempting. was there lavender taste... serena said yes slowly the taste would surface... hee my answer was... yah taste soapy!

chocolate and us. my mood was uplifted with these chocolate cakes and esp with my Valhora chocolate drink... that was so rich, alittle too sweet would love it alittle bitter but it was good for the soul! the mashmellow was not soft, too pampered by canele and rocky mountain brand cos they are really soft. serena is one of my good company, who would not complain about having desserts. i enjoy my experience with her.

the curving plate was kinda cool. there was place to put the cup and the mashmellow dusted with cocoa powder, the cup itself was a nice piece of design! this u have to have it when its hot! perfect end to my meal! we went shopping at the supermarket as i wanted to get yogurt! dap tried the grapefruit flavour and was good. you cannot find this brand at the ntucs.... got 6 of them. 3 GF and one each of strawberry, blueberry and apricot.

this is my first bareback halter top, i dun have many print tops, love to get more tops like this pc!

its more than a tub

T for tuesday, terrific balinese massage, unexpected: the concubine bath tub!


was looking forward for the massage cos have been having tight knots on shoulder areas and sore back. had breakfast with gx, didnt dare to eat too much cos an hour before the massage, afraid i throw up! took a bus while gx went to office. just before i got off the bus, suddenly i got tapped on my hand and i got shocked! turned around and it was ambrose. its been long since i met him. he quickly passed me his namecard jus before i alighted! wondered if he owns the interior firm or he's working for them. Angie's spa is at sin ming plaza tower 2. i was the first customer for the day, 11am appointment. i was served a short glass of refreshing drink to relax . sitting on the sofa by the windows was a nice way to start my day. (photos are provided by angie, then no sofa!)

the place is very cosy. the rooms are comfortable size, not the tiny type. my room had attached bath room, with the rain shower, camera was locked in locker, next time will take photos with own camera. i decided to add the scrub package, so i had a scrub session, rinsed off and got 15mins in the concubine bath that had aroma oil in it. its far back in the picture. my description would be the old antique bath tubs... so i was left to soak in the dim lit room. its nice to have a chance to be in such a tub! guess its a kind of fantasy and its a luxury so i have never tot i would have the chance to try it out and in angie's spa! the lady who did the massage was good cos she knows how to get rid of my knots! not many knows how to ease my pain. angie's spa having offer for pre-natal massages... i book mine cos it was a good deal... no i am not pregnant yet, not kiasu, but just storing never know when the time comes and oso to show my dear friend my support.

after the massage, we headed to have lunch nearby and angie recommended hooked on heads. they have a pretty cool logo, not the conventional type...used when they are selling fishhead curry. we ordered a "fish tail" curry, baby gailan and crispy tofu. i like the tofu best. the veg never really my favourite was not bad. as for the curry, its ok as i still think my mum's nicer. lucky for us we didnt walk too far from her shop, cos it rained very heavily. stayed at her spa to chat till gx came to fetch me. by the time he came, the sun was out again! we drove along thomson so i made him turn into somewhere around upper thomson. got off to checkout some shops. went into ivins, peranakan food restuarant and got ourselves teatime!

alittle disappointed as not all the kuehs nice... the one i like best would be the one above. durain flavoured kueh. ondeh was ok but the rest not nice...

went to uncle k house to pick up some albums for selecting fotos... when i got there, my student, uncle k's neighbour was playing with the twins. went back to mums for dinner. when i got home i was eager to eat the remaining durian from monday! love the cold durians! shiok! i want more!
