Happy 2008!!!! here's wishing everyone a great year ahead! Love everyone that contributed your time in my 2007 life! the last week of the year 2007 was BUSY! whats new prob those close to me would say... if you were not contacted during the year end please forgive me k. lex update. i went thru jus yesterday with gerald the happy times of 2007. that i will post above this later!


glad we did alot to pack up before the new year! very happy to have gotten all the kitchen wares! esp my tiffany blue kitchen aid! opened the letter box and got a parcel from tcc! they are nuts! they did up a nice notebook..hardcover and sweet, empty pages and i already tot of using it to store personal recipes!


i didnt wana be negative on the last day of the year cos i wana stay positive for 2008. of cos there were other reasons that affected my decision to stick to +ve cos its been -ve pretty much around me the whole weekend cos my in-law's, a close family fren passed away.

31st december 2007 : morning woke up chatted with gx and he prepared for work while i went to pick nesa up and went to get my starck flute glass exchanged cos they short given me 5 glasses! after picking up a new box we head to dome for hot drink, cheese cake and an apple blueberry pie with gelato. bcos gx fren loved the platter i used for the party so much... i went to help her get a set. i side track to find something to wear for the nite... cos it would be nice if i could find something... didnt know how formal it was gog to be ... but no luck. nesa like the platter too so i got aunt a set. we then headed back to tpy and i rushed home to get ready. decided to wear my little black dress again... with cramps i wanted to wear pants but pants no time to iron ... so no choice between the pink and black i chose black cos i feel safer but i should have worn the pink.... didnt know the dinner was so formal.

dinner was ok not too bad and we had fun during the games. but still i find it quite sabotaging. xianz cos gerald was at work but then if he was here sure gana sabo. hope there would be changes to people's thinking cos not everything is funny.

in order and we had lime sorbet in the middle of course! and the chocolate wasnt oozing out... i guess u really have to have this dessert served really hot!

first time count down outside with family. 1st time had spray in my hands! i was with mum when i count down. i was glad... headed bac to the party and the party animals are my uncles and aunts! they sure know how to boogie. NiCOLE, i have to say sure knows how to party, i danced with her and she was good with her moves. gerald made it in time to join us and after the dance, drinks we moved on to the ktv rooms. played a game of pools, watch gx played and we left the party which still was much alive at 3am. fetched dad home and headed to pick my fil from the wake. i slept thruout the car ride. collasped into bed at 4am...


30th Sunday : morning listened and spoke to mil and tried to encourage her to stay positive in thinking... to say after hearing all the -ve tots i was feeling vexed and fan cos i dun know how to cheer her at all. i know sadness is unavoidable and unbearable... but i pluck up courage and talked to her. at least i know i have done my part. after lunch i took a nap on couch and when i woke up, as plan drag gx from pc and we cleaned up the kitchen cabinets. i got quite a few new toys for the kitchen i wanted to restructure the things in the kitchen cos there were too much stuff jus chucked in. very happy we did so and bravo to my hubby! watched mr and mrs smith and tidied up during commercials and cooked the remaining ingredients for dinner. left 3 chicken wings and we cooked 1 whole packet aspargus with bacon for ourselves! TOO MUCH BACON!! no more for awhile! went to the wake with PILs till almost 3am. i felt sad...

29th Saturday: BUSY day! Got up at 8+, 2hrs late cos i planned an impossible time of 6am to get started to work on the party. lucky for me tuition was cancelled. i plan for this party like 3weeks ago... i love planning! i would think of the dishes write them down then go thru the ingredients write a shopping list, think of the plates its gog to be served on... yah autistic. i jus love the process of thinking, planning and very sure of how i was to execute it... 1st thing was to boil spag, then boil quail eggys and then potatoes! peeled 18x3pac of eggys! gx was veyr good at this even thou eggys were tiny! he had it shelled spiral!

got ann my dearest most helpful cousin to help me out. this year after a few training from baking cupcakes, i got nesa my little pri2 cousin to help me out and dun think she is weak! she helped alot! she too is a good helper! Gx helped to thread all the asparagus wrapped in bacon. nesa helped me thread scallop, tomato, pineapple and peppers. so much to do! nesa was our photographer cos after all the things she could help, she cannot handle the heat so i gave her the camera! aren't the wings perfect? ann's superb at timing!

started cooking alittle later cos i wanted the food to be warm not too cold. should have dressed up alittle better instead of my grey shorts and grey tank top! hair was messed up!!! cos when guests arrived i was still cooking the scallops!!! but lucky for them they are ok bah with my messed up look, no choice anyway i cooked all except the chicken wings ann helped me to grill!

the food was all snapped up and i was alittle embarassed cos i cook 1 packet spag and not enough! usually i cook 2 but i only bot one thus no choice jus settle with 1 and 1st try at cooking it plain with olive oil, bacon and sausauge and seems good bah i didnt even get to try it! bacon was well received cos left none at the end of the party! scallop... not many people like pepper but i put for colour only... hee... love the grill pan! tiramisu was not bad quite a few say it was good. these were all the new dishes i try... lucky turned out good.

the chicken wings and potato salad was already practised many times. the easiest dish had to be the salmon on a new found not too bad waffle cracker! finally gota use the flower plater but didnt take photo with all the yummy sweets to dip in choc fondue! no photos of tiramisu oso...

our 1st to arrive and last to leave and even helped to clear our mess - gx buddy who is also leaving the force on the same day! he's available! anyone?

first time the food left only chicken wings and not many! PILs came bac from wake ate a few and left 3. this was like not bad and i jus wondered if food was enough... but they all complained full. we had our last guest which is also our 1st guest to arrive, ah hock leaving at 1am. we were cleaning up and chatting with him after the travelling group confirm stuff which was about 11+ close to 12. we cleaned up till almost 1+ to 2am then PIL came home. MIL was very upset. but unavoidable... slept 3+... thank you peng for the lovely chocolates from canele! and koh for the bottle of reds!

28th Friday: picked nesa up and head straight to town. Had alot of places to run to! most important was to get cheese for tiramisu! day started at McCafe again. but this time with another guy behind me ordering 2 hotchoc, the same indian guy didnt have time to do pattern for nesa's choc, got her 3 mashmellows and she did her own pattern. she jus love having fun.

we headed to tangs for me to finish up using up my $20 vouchers. and i didnt wana give up finding the perfect size of tray for my tiramisu! and it was worth it cos i did managed to find it but dun understand why we could have misssed it the last time i was there with gx! got a new Glass measuring cup too! this ones good cos its got all the useful measurements! and best of had 20% discount and then instead of $40+, after discount and vouchers ... i paid only $14! very auntie but i am! & i dun care! took a bus to PS, we head to buy something that i was so looking forward yet really scared GX scream.... saw it in the magazine i got yesterday and i fell in love with it! and of cos i must have it! Phillipe Starck party wares... then head back to carrefour and dam it they left only 1 tub of cheese.... we bot as much as we could carry then head to novena coldstorage to finish up buying the food stuff and then gx fetched us bac to tpy, loaded things and head for one more round at ntuc after ann met us! we ate early dinner late lunch then spree and started on our tiramisu almost 5+! so tired to enjoy the process of making tiramisu for the 1st time. nesa was so tired she fell asleep on the couch! finished

27th thursday : a busy day cos its pack up day for preparing to have guest in our house on saturday! so 1st of all ... the storeroom... everything was dumped in there so it was time to clear so that there is more space for things! and also it was time to throw our whatever we dun need! almost 6+ then we were doned and rushed to prepare for gx cousin's wedding dinner at suntec pearl river restuarant. simple wedding but terrible speech by the groom! its like OMG why did he say this and it was endless of OMG! never mind the details. just trust me its OMG! scary! but the bride which is gx cousin had better control of her speech! she spoke well and i can never give speech esp in mandrin like hers!

26th wednesday: shopping day. gx and i planned this day to jus be a shopping day! after back from whampoa, i packed all the vouchers i had from tangs and taka and m1 phone upgrade vouchers, we head 1st to tangs and got $180 worth of bedsheets... an bolster case which was not in the set and from another brand jus to match the set cost $58 before less... sheridan... lucky got 40% off... but its vouchers.... if not would never buy!
then to taka gave gx all the 100 and he spent it all at timberland! he got a red polo and i chose a laptop bag for him. had to top up but he was more than happy!

thats not all the shopping although shopping vouchers all used. ate korean at foodcourt, the zhajiang mien not nice... then head to m1 at paragon and dam the phone i wanted was out of stock! the gal who served no goood... ! wasted my time! i went toy r'us to clear 10 voucher on 2 water bottle while he shopped at Mark and S. met up then headed home to get car and off we went to ikea as planned! can't believe it the one a tampines not very well stock they had empty shelvings! or was it that so many came to shop? got 2 smaller sized glass platter instead of the big one bcos i can't find any! ... got my grill pan and it was on offer and it was a LAST pc. Last minute before it closes i had to head to the supermarket section! I picked up for the 1st time a pc of smoked salmon, a tube of salmon cream and my favourite ginger almond cookie for fondue! pretty flower shaped. this is jus in case any of my dishes not turning out well and if everything is ok, its gonna be extra food on table! ate at ikea... and headed home to clear bags!

25th December : morning woke up at chalet... packed up and off we left b4 10am. head to have dimsum but not open so we had prawn noodles instead. force my way to a new bakery along the way bot pineapple puffs and almond sticks. very freshly baked but didnt try them when its hot cos too tired to eat anything. went home straight to unload stuff and rest awhile, shower then head back to mum's. she cooked the most yummiest noodles. the soup was naturally sweet cos she boiled te stock with loads of stuff. had a long talk with her and she like the puffs but find it too ex! the pineapple was freshly grated not packed in tubs kind. i like it. not too sour and like the fresh taste.

went home to rest cos busy and didnt have good sleep... rested and woke up nothing to eat so gx and i ate crackers with tuna and soup for dinner. gave him a rudoff chocolate deer as present. instead of log cake, there was also no xmas dinner as my PIL worked, i arranged a platter of sweets. the pineapple puffs that looked like parcels with a big cross over at the centre, gingerbread claus that my aunt gave us, almond pastry sticks which was at the back, X-large gingerbread man that my sil bot and the centre pc the chocolate snowman was given to me by joyce.

MIL got new hp, FIL got a ex croc good quality GOLD polo, and we got a wine chiller and very cute fondue picks from SIL and BF... we didnt get the 2 young ones anything and gx say gog to get it from our trip. we threw in our 2 boxes of chocs that my sweet aunt A gave us!

24th decemember : early morning woke up, went with ann to get bkfast. we ate ours at BK then walked on to 7-11 to see we could get stuff to sweep the floor! headed back woke them up for bkf and played mahjong. was losing all the way till the last few sets. i won a few rounds and with a big bang one i prob was the winner... no pay money so never count but pretty sure i won. lunch- chicken rice bot by aunt and after that we headed to the rent bicycles.

bathroom stop over at bk... hee, had to ask gx to pose... took quite a few shots. this prob the closest! me and aunt kw not riding, aunt k and aunt a shared a bic with ann so the 4 of us had ice-cream at nz ice-cream place.

althou the place was small, it was good for chitchat. i order like 2 sets of 3 scoops of ice-cream. it was good. I 1st had this ice-cream with sis in NZ during the cold winter days! nesa had all the fun cos while the aunts and ann exchanged time to ride the bic, nesa rode with all 3 of them! she finally took a longer break and we ordered 2 waffles. it was not bad.

after the bicycle ride was pizza time. arthur, ann and i went to tabao satay. didnt dare to order too much! cos the nite b4 wasted alot of food! didnt plan much for the nite... but lucky aunt a had presents to give! it was for all the BIG BOYS AND GALS! she overheard a conversation of how we used to get presents like the little ones, alot of it! so she decided to reward all the cousins with a little appreciation from her. Sweet!

for the 2 nites we had cakes! we celebrated ben's bdae with an ice-cream cake from gelare. perfect dessert! we played zhong zi mi ma and forfeit was to eat mashmellow. most of the family left at 11.45pm... most of them tired. then ben went to sleep. left me, bro and gx. at 12mn... we somehow held hands cris-crossed and wished each other and haha started moving in circles...jumping around... funny but fun. they prob kill me for saying this... but it was a moment we didnt expect to happen! then we sat down to watch the rest FIGHT! as in "snow fight" people chasing each other with cans, screaming and laughing... we 3 just sat there watch and wait for wallace to be back from fetching people home.

23rd december sunday: morning went to buy food and prep them at home 1st. when we got to the chalet in the afternoon... problematic mgt... kept disturbing us the whole day... i got pissed and i settle with them when they came at nite for the 4th time. got them to f off and i asked of them not to return! spoilt our mood. anyway didnt take photos cos 1st after we got there it started to rain then we decided to bbq early. then was busy bbqing so cousins used their camera to take.

dessert was ice-cream cake from gelare for uncle J bdae! got ann to order that so it was easy for collection and cut straight after collection cos expected the fridge to be tiny! great chocolate ice-cream! love the peanut crust! after the adults left, we started drinking games. we stopped for a while and ben went to sleep. ann was already asleep cos she wants to go jogging in the morning.

crazy me challenged bro to play and i drank alot! till i was problematic and they had a good laugh but gerald suffered.... they said i did matrix on the stairs... as usual i control for plastic bags before puking.... somehow i jus hate dirtying place with puke bah... 5 times or more thats what they told me...

22nd and before...

met dap cos she was very near me and gave her a box of cupcakes. had lunch with dap at Waraku.... ok only mayb its the outlet or the things we ordered...went to cold storage to hunt for my red pears and i bot like 8 packets with 3 pears in each! gave some to mum and kept some for gx family!

my in-law's beef noodles stall shifted back to original place but of cos the place is new now cos newly renovated! their business was very good! defintely better than the temp market! i did the signboard for them. this was designed a few months back. after looking through with mil, sil and gx we decided on this. so lucky that the big COW character was right in the centre of the signboard! MIL told me many looked at their signboard and praised them as it was different and looked good. happy that they liked it... thats wats most important! please go support them k and see the signboard i design... its simple but i really put in effort... and loads of persusion!
