mum's beijing trip

after picking mum up from airport, we head home and when mum took out the camera to return to me, she got excited when i was looking thru the pics and she was filling me in with all the details! i stayed overnite at mums and we didnt get to sleep till 1.45am! cos when i loaded the photos into her com, we went thru not too many photos - cos in comparison to my numbers of shots i take, this is very little but it was good enough to tell us all about her trip!

my very nice uncle and aunt brought her to beijing as a bdae gift. and its oso my aunt o's bdae gift. the week they were there, china celebrated their national day... they get to enjoy 7 days off days! thus many people where ever they went. mum took a beautiful shot of the airport for me. she knows i like details. so did i rub that off her or did she get influenced by me? my mum was ever in a photography club k during her school days! Day 1 was just arrival in beijing in at the afternoon, check into hotel, dinner and done for the 1st day.

2nd day. tianmen square. mum somehow turn the dial and the effect became sepia. i had no chance to teach mum much on how to handle the camera cos she has very short attention span for such technology stuff and so many things she wanted to take care of, busy around the house before she left, so i taught her the basic. on. off. take but i did mention to her make sure the dial stays at the camera logo... which she obviuosly forgotten.

but the sepia colour does give the photos mum took a nostagic feel. she took pics of the many people walking infront of her to show us THE MANY PEOPLE SHE SAW AND HAD TO WALK BESIDES to get to the main door of the forbidden city. mum is amazed by the crowd esp when they all head for the BIG door but it felt small to her cos there was people squeezing and pushing thru. somehow or rather... the colour came back. lucky her accidently turning it back to colour like how she turned it to sepia.

they went to a nice posh restuarant next to the forbidden city. mum took the pic of the hanging umbrellas for me to see how they decor the place. it looked so pretty when it reflects onto the dining table. L wanted to take pic like her sis L so he took my camera and took the shot of his mum and my mum. not too bad!
he is pretty talented! he took a pic of his sis and haha took a pic of his own shoes! this pic is probably taken by accident but i love this shot cos its something that i took during my penang and taiwan trip!
Lety is so smart! she took the poster to show what they ate for breakfast on Day 3. mum finally got her wish come true to be at the great wall. again it was crowded! people everywhere. here she said she finally knows the meaning of a proverb - ren shan ren hai. i told her that she looks like she was on wan li chang "ren" instead of chen. there were some pics they took that had head to head and countless heads heading to the higher ground. so rare was the pic with lety that there was nobody around them!

Day 4. mum and uncle went to an antique street to shop while aunt and kidos swim at hotel. they went for dinner at a super posh restuarant! its designed by my favourite designer!!! yes from cutlery, plates, decor to even everything in the washroom is created by him! lucky mum! she had Buddha jumped over the wall here...

Day 5. last day in beijing, they head for the birdnest olympics stadium. i like the pic my uncle took of my mum. after the sight-seeing, it wass time to head for the airport. Lety took many shots of the scenery shots during the 1hr journey before reaching the airport.

there were many more photos taken. mum was complaining that the battery ran out half way thru... definitely going to buy new camera soon! yes we have a slr but i really need one handy sized camera in my bag! mum said that the trip is very relaxing. it was good for her that she didnt need to walk too much. i was glad she went with uncle this year and she get to enjoy and also eat lots of good stuff, some of these places they went, i prob can't afford to bring mum. A big thank you to my generous uncle and aunt, for bring my mum to China to fulfil her dream and taking care of her during this trip.
