japanese-frennch pastries

lots of entries from yesterday and today! about 5? lost count! but i better blog today cos if not i mit start sleeping on weekdays and will be missing for the whole week! today i made it to class... i almost tot i paid and was not placed in the class! reach there pretty early but there were already a group of aunties they took the best seat and my favourite seat for class! dam! i like this 2nd row 4th seat ... sat there the last 2 times! so i am very determined to be even earlier next time! that will be 18th nov!

anyway... not totally excited after attending the class cos dun think i will make these but been an eye-opener esp how to make macarons. learnt how to make green tea filllings. mayb the only thing i will try would be the black sesame ice-cream. still am happy to have tasted all the sweet treats from class today! lucky for me gerald came to pick me cos heavy downpour! and lucky for him i asked him to come up and he gota try the ice-cream and we ate some in the car! yah i took pictures of those that were pre-packed in the car!

went for tuition at bukit timah and then rushed off to whampoa to meet serena and huiyi. I was soooo hungry but i ren to wait for them to come eat lunch with me. Suppose to be a bigger group of people coming but as you will read in her review why only the 2 made it. they may not be the 1st ones gx cooked for but for the record they are the 1st ones in our class to try his culinary skill at this beef stall! mil told me my bro made him cook for him and ben just on wednesday. after eating, we went to novena square for coffee and strawberry cheesecake but only me and gx ate and drank. the 2 gals was too filled and they had to reserve for another meal later.

went home played with the twins went for a walk with mum and think mum is really stress and she liked that we take walks with her... came home very unhappy today i was in bad mood!

hope today is better ... but right now dun even know if i got class cos they didnt send me reminder and i paid for it! dam! i just hope i will have a seat later... looking forward to sink my teeth in milkpan! and not really excited right now about the course... cos dun know if got my seat. xianz sunday start! hope i will be inspired later...hopefully!

DEAR's 29th Birthday!

my dear hubby is still so young while my 1st digit is 3 he is still at 2! and he very yaya! cos it will be like that! after school went home to shower and change into one of my new top! love the new top and gx was in his new topman top i chose. he looked good in the blue! glad he dare to try and he liked it too!

drove down to ann siang street and found the place that i chose for dinner. WACHA... a very small place, longuish shophouse space, the front of the shop sells japanese laquer ware, the mid to the back of the shophouse was for people to have meals and drinks. gx chose the sashimi course which was 40 and i chose the tea leaf set which was 38. Then we learnt that we should order sake to go with food 1st then tea with dessert... cos we wanted to order tea first then enjoy sake later... a lesson learnt from this meal! jap takes sake 1st then tea!

we didnt order a bottle thus it was served in a bigger laquer bowl with sprout and poured into tiny almost saucer but taller in height cups to drink from. the place is not big but i didnt expect the more modern sittings thou. in that blog i jus read about the place and saw a foto of the appetiser basket... thus i was surprise with the modern setting. interesting table cos it make the place looked so green and friendly! but the seats not very good for eating thou! but still something different and nice. we had our food served on the flat laquer tray.

I found this blog that i have been reading during the one week holiday. so that how i found this place.Now i prefer and like small places as in the number the place can accomodate is small thus less noise if no noisy crowd and i find it more exclusive not over crowded! more personalise service! like cookie museum... anyway i booked dinner at 6pm got ther at 5.45pm cos 1st: wanted to see the place in daylight and then experience the nite 2nd: i get starving by 5+pm. i have very early dinners when i dun go back to mums! you can see the shadow of a jap lady mayb the owner in a kimono talking to me. the 6 little appetiser was served in a 2 tier little bamboo basket.

the food some interesting cos never try before, the usual like in the appetiser, the egg roll was really good, the sashimi was fresh, the gratin i had was with hotdog and 1st time the whole gratin colour is green cos mines green tea set its all green! but its nice. the only thing i didnt like was the green tea soba. lucky the fried brown rice with little shrimps are good! and of cos its got green tea thou not green in colour! they added tea leaf and very fragrant!

Just as we finish by sunset, the candles were lit, althou these dishes that look small.... the 2 courses we had was filling! we had ginger sorbet and greentea cheesecake that comes in the set. the ginger was hot at first but somehow there is sweetness after several teaspoons! as for the greentea cheesecake, gerald had it first cos his bdae ... the top layer had macha power and very good quality thus bitter! but after several spoons... the sweetness surface and its pretty good jus wished it had some jap red bean to go with it! but i stil like it. there are different kinds of green tea. green tea with roasted brown rice, and lots more. we ordered Gykuro a sweet kind of greentea, light in taste.

present time and i got the present in 4 outer plastic bags! he been guessing by the wrapper and bag the present when i gave him the belt, so i got it in bodyshop, topshop and then sanrio bag!

he say he was gog to wrap my present in newspaper... he tot it was cufflinks that he kept hinting me! but i got him a keypopuch and i got this with 30% off at isetan 2 weeks ago. its just for keys no slots so its sleek!

we finished dinner by 7.30pm and cos we were so full we can't even go for drinks which i had planned! then we drove out and stop by ted to say hi since he haven seen them for so long! left and headed to marina south pier... a new pier but so quiet and the drinking place at the roof top was so small but its a good place for people who wans quiet... but so full so we jus took a look at the place and left heading home... but i suggested to stop at united square for coffee cos i was thristy! went starbuck had a huge ice mango passion fruit tea... picked parents in-law and headed home for cake!

sil got gx his cake from rive, a nice chocolate cake! and guess he had his wish heard! i didnt tell sil what he prob wanted but somehow she got him cufflinks! nice and easy to match a pair of black cufflinks! and lucky gx had so many friends who remembered his bdae!

busy super tired week!

i was missing from the msn world for almost 5days! uploaded on monday till 1am and whole week i was busy and tired that i slept on sofas when watching tv... without fail!

anyway monday : dinner at dtf with gc family and then dessert at serena's place hk cafe

tuesday: heard what happen to bro on sunday, ben and bro popped by and got a ride hm. as ben is gog to army on fri, everybody gives in to make him happy... cos he baby boy of the whole group. he is the last one in our category to go army. next lucas will go army in 16-18years time! went to collect mahjong from u.m house and started at 7 and ate dinner at 9+... TIRED! work too much brains and sitting down for so long!!!!

wednesday: super busy at work cos when kids go field trip and when i am alone in class... i will given ALMOST 3days of work for the 3 hours that they are gone... effective i was really busy!!! its ok also then i not scared to be alone in the room cos no time to bother with the quietness! rushed home plan to buy popcorn hm to watch secret with gx.... but my bro and ben ended up with him, i was fine cos i understand i suggested gx to get them to meet at whampoa... glad gx had taken the whole week off but i take my hats of him working everyday helping at the stall and accompanying the 2 boys! they ended up at clementi fish shop! thus i make sure gx pick up the millie cake! lucky he agreed. meanwhile, i was ser's mum shop with felicia getting 2 new tops, a pair of earrings and a nice hairclip which i dun know when i will use it... lucky in time to ask gx to fetch me home. KL went to get a new look... guess its always the case... new start new look bah. he had so many tiny hair pricking him he ask to come up to wash it off... then mahjong started... bad luck, bad mood for me... must be what i encounter in the morning ... everything was perfect till ... anyway prob too tired and glad arthur came and fill in my seat. tired once again... mahjong is so exhausting!

thurday : late 10mins for work! hated lunch today... spoilt. errr.... after school went spanish. then rushed off to meet gx for spa. after spa dam hungry went to the basement to look for dinner. i saw korean so i ask gx wan korean and bcos he looked the other way he asked me "manna"... when he turn he laughed... the korean stall name.... MANNA korean .... we ended up eating here .... not bad ok but stil i prefer the one at meridien. went to get his top and hm... end up on sofa to rest before showering cos very hot...... needed to cool down but i end up sleeping, thus late shower and rush the next morning! but lucky not late got on the shuttle bus to school!

choices

everyday, we make choices... regardless where... when driving we make a choice which lane to switch to. at work, we also make choices but usually restricted, cos we have bosses, most of the time we listen and do and sometimes suggest. people relations, communication... IS USUALLY 2 ways but yes we do make choices... the words, the way we either minced the words or say it nicely that will let the other party react in a choice they want. EVERYBODY have a choice but sometimes some people just leave other people with no choice? or is it that some people dun understand that their choice is stupid, fake, irritating, super hurting and it boils down to them being crap? I dun always make the right choices but i never regret cos i say we learn from everywhere, everyone and right or wrong we learn. I know of people who will never learn and never know that there is always left, u-turns, round-abouts, they know only right and i have to say DEAD-ends are meant for them!

many things that happen this week make me think so much that u resulted white hair, not just things that happen on me, things that happen around me, not just people but opportunities that are knocking, should or should not? nobody knows what will the choice result but there is always a limit people can take thus choices will resurface.

one week after

was about to complete yesterday update with photos and life after the 1 week hols but was tired and busy with sunday chores ... clear laundry, fold dry laundry and clean up but still room is in super mess... too many things no space...

so thats why that statement yesterday but my week wasnt too bad to say ... kids came bac for 2 days and wed and thurs was off for them again cos parents conference. anyway thursday, dap called to date me out then i went to meet her at tcc. at isetan. ate then walked to taka to get her biscuits that we couldnt find in isetan. rushed home to prepare stuff for sat and was soooo tired.

Friday 19th : was suppose to go out for dinner with my family but mum prefer to eat at home so we decided to buy back instead. ping was suppose to leave the money for the jelly i ordered for gx but she forgot thus i rushed back to mum's but got aunt to pass my bro the cash in case i didnt arrive in time. when it came... opened the box my bro can ask me "transformer huh?" then my cousin b say its a rocket... over turn it for Cousin a to see and thank goodness he knows! waited for gx to come fetch us to buy dinner at chompchomp... we bot lox of food and it was ok only... as we kidos sat there to chat i brot the jelly out and gx guessed at once its jelly and he tot was gog be an elmo design. He liked it and of cos he knows it was R2T2! he even told us that star wars started its 1st episode in 1978 woh. so it meant alot to him! SUPER happy! having a R2T2 was interesting i personally think its cool! I was impressed with the outcome cos at least the blue was in different shades. it made it looked 3d. hats off!

hee... i told the school kids esp the boys i was gog to get R2 for gx bdae and they were so excited and one kid blast out loudly that i should get him a lightsabre for him to cut the jelly. i couldnt stop laughing and he told me seriously that it was cool idea and i praise him for the good suggestion. i was exhausted and fell asleep in the car and once home i was "unawakable"

Saturday morning woke up at 8am to hurry and hated it when i can't find my file! i saw a yellow little thing crawling away and i was jus so curious i took a closer look... it was a bright neon yellow spider. it was about 10cents sized. went to ted to meet serene as she was gog to get her gown made there. excited for her! went back to mum's place and ate yummy dinner then went over to u.m house and for weeks haven been there... still feel sad. got home i was unmovable. while i slept gx went partying with the boys and his camp mates at dragonfly. he told me he opened a bottle of martel for his bdae and oso for the boys to drink up for ben's upcoming army days. he is going in on gerald's bdae.

sunday : boring chore day!

monday : only looking forward for school to be over and went home to nap cos i was very tired. then woke up change for dinner. Serena i had DTF! cos gx wanted his parents to try it out. for the 1st time i step into paragon's branch thou after so many time at dtf i only been to bj8 and wisma. As usual we ordered the crab filling XLB, fried rice with pork chop ... the new stuff i ordered was the beef slices, beef soup and chilli wantan. i only can commend on the wantan not bad choke on my 1st bite cos the chilli got me.

we were very filled but i suggested going for dessert at HK cafe at kovan, serena place. ordered 2 dessert, a hot hk milk tea and a kopi o. after eating the ice i was so cold. after getting out of the place worse it rained heavily! home but i dun feel like sleeping even though i am tired... the next few days are gog to be busy cos i planned quite a few places to go for his bdae... excited but exhausted i can't wait for nov long weekends!!! love my new ck top even thou gx say alittle oldish but i like it anyway! and love my new big earrings too!

the rest of my week!

My week has been not bad got things started again, some completed met up with ser glad to have been able to help her out... best thing that happen is to have private time spent with gx althou i know he's got lox on his mind... loved the tapas class! so glad i signed for it!


Thursday : did as much as i can with taiwan photos... rushed out to meet aunt o. lucky for me she came to pick me up as it started to drizzle! head to Lucas school at forum, after he went to class we headed to coffeebean 1st to get a drink. I really like come out from mountain cos long time never spend $5 on drinks i didnt realise coffeebean got new flavours! many in fact! i tried the lemon and loved it! been into lemon tarts and stuff! after 1hr+ at ken's black box studio we finally sort of settle the first part of getting the album gog! picked up Lucas and got aunt to alight me at isetan scotts. got dinner from supermkt. western hot meal but not really fantastic. the cold turkey penne pasta and potato salad is ok.

Very Jealous when i saw Gx received an envelope from Tiffany... I tot was some brochures but got me even greener when it turns out to be a birthday card! the lady we got our wedding bands the lady we always go to when we went there to check out the rings and accessories sent him a card and also to inform us that she got promoted and is now at airport t2. no wonder when i went with serena i dun see her anymore at ngee ann... Serena the card so pretty right???

he went aikido and i continued the taiwan photos... unable to finish!!!


friday : we went cookie museum. I booked this 2 months ago during July holiday. But was invited for cookie sampling 2 weeks ago so i went with dap then. But i love this place so i wot mind coming bac so soon! Love the tea here! Drank peony tea and it was goooood! smelt good and taste heavens. ordered the polish dog quiche liked the salmon one better cos cheesier!
after the savoury we had cookie sampling with the same waitress she's very nice and patient and we ordered CNY cookies oredi! yah must order early cos they will take in maximum order and stop.

ordered a lava chocolate cheese dessert... i find it ok but gx liked it more than i do... we were there from 4.40 -almost 7pm. prefered the seat i had with dap cos the one we sat on fri was too near crowd and road for comfort. then we went walk about in Marina Square and i toppled on bed and fell asleep till next morning!
Saturday: Went for tuition and head straight to town and started shopping I got lots of stuff while waiting for Gx. I got him the gift i was looking for! Serena i managed to find him the one i was looking for! and got 30% off! So happy. Got him to meet me at coffeeclub. I ate chicken pie and shared with him the mudpie. then we head to topman to get his top i reserved and then we went to A/X to get his belt punched. then went to get the sample photos of our gradution family portrait. went home and enjoyed mum's cooking. went home and toppled again within seconds! exhausted!

Sunday : Tapas and Cocktail class! I enjoyed the class and tasted the best pesto in Singapore so far! The Chef jus won 2nd in a worldclass cooking competition in HK think i heard its called the blackbox competition.? No hands on but we get to try each dish! I felt so good! cos i enjoyed the food! the cocktail was easy to make and taste good! ate aspargus, prawn and scallops, prawns and sausage, seared tuna which was the best! feta cheese with watermelon which is why i attend the class and very pleased to have tried it!

then his restuarant manager demostrated 4 different kinds of cocktails we can make easily at home! it was great as no shaker is required! taste good! tried 2 types that were served!


got his cookbook and he autographed it and i took a picture with chef ho. the cookbook is really good its got recipes that i like and i am so ready to cook!

tomorrow gog back to school... can't sleep its over my bedtime and i am still blogging! excited about my adventure today but sad to say my mission not accomplished this holiday! planned to finish photo cropping to finish the taiwan album... and oso didnt get to bake cupcakes cos ann didnt call me so i assume she is still busy unpacking stuff in her new home. but still glad i got things started and glad that nov got 2 sets of long weekends! well sas people will get an extra set of long weekends cos we have thanksgiving holidays. now i so look forward to nov cos i hope to finish what i have started! Next class will be Japanese-french pastries and cakes! EXCITED!
