Sis' GuoDaLi

Sunday 7th was Sis GuoDaLi. i love traditions cos it got this very festive mood. my Guodali was very red. the red really brings out the mood! cos the cake boxes are all red, gx and i was wearing red too... will try to find my pics... i used to save most of my pre-wedding pics on mum's computer but her com crashed... will see if i can find my old photo cds and if i did managed to save them.... if i do find it i will post them...

very first to arrive at mums. so i started taking pics of my mum's new decorated house. taken away was the comfort chiar replaced with a tall bamboo light and horse on the piano. the new shoe rack looks like customed made to match the the new furnitures but lucky mum got this at a very normal furniture shop. sofas, lightings, dining table, the buddha painting and the decorative statues are all new. my bro's fishtank is history... gx was the helpful bro-in-law to the new bro-in-law. same as us, sis and d have both teochew and cantonese wedding biscuits. i love the both packages as its so red, bring up the wedding mood! esp when all the bags are placed on the table!

the 2 new members to my family - my mum's smiley son-in-laws.love this basket! i had it for my wedding. love this traditional basket, brings alot of feel... more meaningful. makes the day special. in this huge chinese basket, in each layers has different items. 18 oranges, 2 bottles of liquor, wedding candles, 2 boxes of special teochew biscuits and one layer contains the 4dian jin, the jewellary set for the bride and big angbao for the gal's parents. i am not refering to the amount inside! i was refering to the angbao envelope used is really BIG!
whatevers comes to in this bridal basket, the lady's family will keep half and return half. also mum will then replace taken liquor with a bottle of f&n orange, only one pair of candles in the basket, exhange of 9 oranges to complete the auspicious number 18.

forgot to bring camera stand... should have cos the pic taken by m was shaky and blur... too bad bro was still on the plane from vietnam... so he wasn't in this family pic. i am getting rounder... face getting bigger... hopefully i look alright on the wedding day...
