MIL bdae part 1

bcos sil flying to hk and china for work this sunday we went for our family dinner this monday which is 8 days away from mil bdae. so we planned 4 parts to her bdae. part 1 was to bring her and family to Lei Gardens for dinner and i ordered a bouquet of flowers for her on behalf of my fil. ordered then tell fil on monday afternoon when i got hm that i ordered flowers on behalf of him for mil. he was ok with it.

doi my florist as usual very early... even though i told him a later time to turn up... he was 1 hour early! some sort of 6th sense bah when we climbed the stairs out from the carpark, i walked faster then my in-laws and gx to check out the sidewalk and we almost bumped into doi at the lobby if i had not quicken my steps to check out the walk way! lucky when he saw me i put my hand up to stop him from coming any nearer! and he stop! then i signal gx to go up with his parents first... if not no surprise liao... the flowers were pretty! love the roses love the way he curl the petals sweet! met up sil and got her to hold the flowers and when we approach the table mil couldnt see sil at all cos the bouquet was the focus! after sil hand fil the flowers touching moment! fil gave mil the flowers... she loved it! she can't bear to put it down! happy that she liked it!

i got them to prepare shou tao for MIL 50th called and ordered a day before. it was nice cos it was bitesize not too big, not too much dough lots of paste and with a nice touch of salted egg yolk not the whole but enough to make it taste goooood.

peking duck was good crispy and the skin was nice. the fish was very fresh and the chilli sauce was tasty and the chewy konnyaku was a nice match. i wanted egg yolk prawns or wongkam ha but the guy suggested this prawn dish that he say is nicer! fried prawn with a nest of salad. the nest was made of malt. ok dish ... pretty presentation prawn fresh nicely fried but would have prefered other methods of cooking...

the next 2 dish was nice to eat but would have got a better deal if i had remember to look for the right lady and mention my "distant" collegue's name!!! she was a regular and the one who recommend me this place. the 1st time we were there with my mum,, sis and aunt... it was fantsatic and a good deal but didnt bring camera then!

glad mil was happy with the food, it was good but i dun like the guy who decided out menu whoever he is he not good! dun like him the food he got us was ok but not as fantastic as the last time when we were there. he is considered lousy! but food stil taste good but not as exciting as the last time!

the tea was then changed to a gongfu tea cup (i name it! cos reminds me of olden days)

in these little pots is my favourite yongzi gamlou! pomelo sago mango soup? and its sil's favourite too! lucky her she gog hk again and will be able to eat the hk authentic version! but this is one of the better ones i ate here! wished i could have 2nds... but too ex so i savoured it sloooowly. good way to end our meal. when we got home we ate the french pastries i bought. macaroons and hazelnut something forgot whats it called. FULL!

this is something small i can do for my mil. she takes care of me alot esp when i went thru the op. she was there everyday cooking porridge for me. its her big year and she's gog get more surprises! tomolo is part 2 and i am glad i got better today... anyway today had retail therapy with my sis and dap... got my mum a top and she was very happy... sis treat us dinner at sushi tei and coffee and cakes at spinellei... good deal and now after the hot cup of caramel earl grey tea i had ... yah can't sleep and now blogging. more to write but i got tuition so i have to sleep... but first my medication!
