busy TEN DAYS! august 6th to august 15th

6th august wednesday : left work on time. rushed home to start on my new dessert that i learnt. i was on my own doing my own 1st pannacotta. it was not difficult to do this dessert, i consider this easy. i was just afraid if i had enough gelatin, whether if it would set or worried i had put in too much of it and it will be too hard. left for my 2nd pilate class and rushed home to check on the dessert. gx had the 1st bite... he like it and it was a relief for me cos i am serving this for dessert for V's dinner party. that nite FIL bot durians again and i love it!



7th august thursday : alot to prepare in school! worked alittle later and right after school irene and i head to V's house. we were the 1st to arrive and we had the privilege to have cherry tomato salad for starters! i learnt this new dish and i am in love with tomatoes! its easy and taste so good! i like going to V's house early cos i get to see the action and i love learning new dishes!

the greek salad with feta cheese was different from the usual salad i have eaten. i am not a salad vegy person but this was not too bad. my favourite would be the morrocan lamb! wooo this lambs very good! faint when the oven was opened! the smell was so alluring! the roasted veg that was cooking around the lamb taste so good! the veg were soft and it was so flavourful!

i want to roast lamb but not many dare to eat lamb thou... i had so much i was sooo full! as usual we had entertainment everytime we come here! we didn't have any booze but we had alot of singing! Lyn got her mean Karaok machine that contains more than 10000 songs! really!!! old and new songs were sung! we had so much fun and we were dancing at the end of the party! of cos in the dark with candlelite and lamps only!

i served my pannacotta dessert after dinner but didnt get a chance to take pics cos by the time i was done serving their individual portions, they were done eating it! they liked it and i was so glad it went well. 2nd dessest that nite was a very nice chocmint cake. the mint taste cooling and it was great with the choc. 3rd dessert we had that nite was V's filipino fruit salad. this was great! i love this dessert. i used to have it when i was working in eton house with ms helen. she would make this for school parties! and i am so glad i know how to make this now!



8th august friday : no work today! i slept for so long! was feeling very lazy! got out of the house to go get the ingredients to make the fruit salad for 2 parties. Pats' bbq and weekend bdae party at mums. lucky dap came in time to help me carry the coconuts and other ingredients! once we were home i heat up the clam clowder soup and pan fry the salmon and made the tomato salad for lunch.

dap got the french loaf and i served it with the pesto sauce. its great match! so glad i found this pinenuty pesto so that i dun have to make my own! as for the salmon ... not so good lucky i got this roasted garlic mayo to save the fish.dap loves tomatos and she liked this dish. best part is that i finally gota use her black seasalt she got me from spain!

we were suppose to make the jap dessert but in the end we were checking stuff on youtube that we didnt see that we actually spent so long on the com! so instead after eating the pannacotta i saved for her, she helped me with the fruit salad dessert! glad she was around to help me out cos the coconut really drove me crazy! its so difficult to get the flesh! dap left to join her friends to watch the olympics and she was gog to make the tomato salad for them!

as for me, i waited for gx to come home but he was so late! then we sat down to catch the 080808 china olympic opening ceremony and we were stuck! it was awesome performance and amazing! we lost track of time and we couldnt bring ourself to stop watching the spctacular show, so we ordered mcdonalds, and didnt go over to pats. fil ended the day in a perfect way, he bot durians again! as we watched the fire lit in a unbelievable way i had the best fruit in my hand. love it!

9th august saturday : with the wonderful show put up by china, as we watch the singapore national parade, it paled. we were all excited sharing about the opening ceremony instead. i love the fireworks put up in beijing! it was so grandeur! the big footprints, the smiley faces and endless loud sounding fireworks around in the city! mum cooked mee siam and it was sooooo good! cos we didnt go over to pats i brought the dessert over. it was so iced up but all of them liked it cos it was perfect for the hot weather! i know uncle James loved it cos he had 2 servings!

amazing but i actually had the strengh to go on for karaok session with cousins from 11.30pm till 4am! we could sing till 6am but most of us were exhausted! got to try singing many new songs that i have not tried before.



10th sugust sunday : woke up early to do another batch of fruit salad dessert. i hate the coconuts but they were really essential for this dessert! had to bear with it and thank goodness they rest of it was soooo easy... head back to mums and the boys had already set up the table for matches! nesa loved the tomatoes i made and she helped me with the preparing the pepper and she couldn't stop picking more! mum's curry is the best! thick coconut gravy! love it!


ann baked the fried mushrooms i bought at a new zealand shop at sunset way to perfection! the mushroom were good! love it with mayo! we had 3 other handpick food for the party!

aunt k opt to order in the DIY popiah set. i love this cos its made so easy! all teh ingredients are all provided except the prawns and the chinese sausages. Kueh pieti are my favourite part of this diy set! the popiahs i made are always small and thick when i rolled it up!

familiar? sil's bf ordered the same cakes for sil and their fren's bdae. Aunt K ordered the same durian and chocolate fudge cake. i like this chocolate cake better than lanas... and of cos the jane cake station durian cake is fantastic. i wanted a cousins group shot.... love this pic.


11th august monday : without planning, i met ann on the way out of school. i had missed the shuttle bus and didnt want to wait for the next bus. glad i met her cos i was so hungry i needed food and we head to eat our favourite noodles at marsling. then somehow we didnt wana go home... so we went on the train and as we travelled we tried to think of where to go. we agreed to go to raffles place... dun know why but we did.

we walked about to shop and we stopped for tea at olio dome at the uob plaza. it was nice here except when the crew wash the dishes... after the teaset, we went into a shoe shop and both of us ended up with new shoes! then rushed home to have dinner with in-laws. gx made it in time for dinner and we went to have our usual kueh chap which we didnt eat for sooooo long and it was so good!


12th august 2008 : worked a little later today cos the next day the kidos are back for the 1st time! after school, i head to yishun to get cake from 4 leaves... but to my surprise the place is closed and so many shops are closed! haven been to yishun for very long! it was pretty empty! it was raining heavily and i was lucky to have at least one place to get the cake... swensens.

head home and fell asleep till evening. was exhausted! at 8pm we left in gx car to the new crab place along serangoon north road. this place has limited parking lots and we were lucky to have lots the moment we arrive. cos uncle k fetched mum home from the office, mum invited him to come along. so glad the twins came too!


we had not many dishes but many crabs! we had fried squids, tofu, sweet potato leaves and mee goreng. gx ordered 2 black pepper crabs, 1 chilli crab with 15 mantous and 1 butter crab. we were filled and it was great that we kept the twins entertained and they made us laughed! dad's 66! 6 big candles and 6 small ones. i hope that we will have many more happy days together.


13th ** & 14th august : kidos back in school and i was late for both days! first day i was still able to take a train to marsling and catch a cab in but 2nd day i was so late that i had no choice but to pay $20 for a cab to school. all the kids are sweet but as usual we have some who challenges the rules and some had problems settling down.

15th august friday : i am down with flu and i hate it! fluey!!! after school i head home and slept thru till 7pm, woke up watched alittle of the tabletennis game. singapore was playing and i am glad the team's effort paid! gx got me my favourite prawn mee and funny he got me a ginger beer for drink. dun know where the tsing dao beer came from but he drank that as he had his rice. thats all we did for friday... watching the olympics and then went to bed.



** 13th august wednesday : after school, with some bad luck i missed the bus by 1min! i walked out and felt so hot and uncomfortable and mad with my hair! i called my hairstylist and made an appointment. CROPPED it short and its seems like this is the shortest i ever cut. the sides is really short. too bad the camera needed to recharged. but i love my new look and i feel so much better with short hair! crazy and implusive but lucky i like it. mum yet to see my new look!
