Restaurant Dessert class

Sunday 3rd August : i was feeling very excited cos i was going to learn how to make one of my favourite dessert, Crepe Suzette and Panacotta with mixed berry sauce! the other dessert that was good to learn was chocolate souffle. i was afraid that i would be late so i left the house pretty early! was thankful that gx checked the timing for the bus that i was going to take to portdown road. lucky i quicken my steps if not i would have missed the bus and had to wait for 30mins for the next one to come! it was quiet when i arrived at 10.20am. it was nice on a sunday morning. colbar might have just open not buzzing with people. the place looks really old school and cool.

i had to climb to the 3 storey to get to my cooking school. These black and white houses are pretty cool but when its so quiet it can be pretty scary. just before i turn to get thru the door into the cooking school, this poster caught me eye. cute. i was the first student to arrive. I was pretty excited about the class. the chef teaching was preparing for the class. she was busy measuring the ingredients. i sat down to go thru the recipe and then i explore the place looking at the pics, the utensils.... class of 6 students and we were split into 2 groups. step by step we did all 3 desserts and the place smelt so nice! it was warm sweetness and it made me hungry! didnt eat anything before coming!
the chocolate souffles were so cute! it was fun looking into the oven and watch it rise! we got to try one each while it was hot. this dessert has to be served while its hot. not too bad but its not really my favourite. gerald like this thou, rank 2nd for him.

we both loved the panacotta best! this was sooo good! very creamy! this is so good better than any that i have tried in restaurants! this was also the easiest to make! i would have loved if the berries were sweeter although i know that alittle sour brings out the sweetness better. this has to be served chilled! its so yummy! the sauce is nice.
the french crepe suzette was the most troublesome to make! but it was worth it. gerald didnt really like this cos he's not an orange fan. but i love this very much! but among the 3 desserts i rank it 2nd. this has to be served warmed. when he ate it was the ones i brought home that was cooled.

class ran alittle late bcos we couldn't get the milk to boil and it took us so long to get it to boiling point. gx came to fetch me and we went to sunset way to meet CT. this meet up was long over-dued! think we were supposed to meet like a year ago! chose to eat at Grill Out. we chose dishes to share cos CT had to go for 2nd round after our meetup and gx and i just had desserts at school. they provided us compliementary soup and desserts. the orangy carrot soup was not too bad. i like the pepper grinder. cool.
we ordered a drink called Gunner to share. its made up of Ginger ale, Ginger beer and lime. funnt thing was the warm bread came after we finish the soup. nice and warm and soft and perfect with melted butter!
the portabello mushrooms was not too bad. the asparagus was a little bitter but i loved the carrots. the kurobuta pork collar (black pork) was very nice, seasoned just with salt and grilled! very nice! the pork was so tender! the spring chicken dipped in the brown sauce was not too bad. gx and i was full. the ice-cream they served was 3 flavoured ice-cream wrapped with cake like a swiss roll. thou it taste normal but it was the perfect cooling dessert for the very hot sunday!

CT changed car. it was a black beauty! toyota Celica. he had a very good deal for this car! i sat in ct old car before and knew he was into sound system but his new sound system was unbelivable, so cool!

when we got home, gx wanted to clear the desserts! the crepe suzette needed more sauce cos it was all soaked up and i learnt that this really has to be served hot cos it would have taste better! love my cooking school and i look forward to my 5 other classes that i have signed up for! but its a long wait cos they are all in sept! meantime i got loads to try out at home!
