sil's bdae at terminal 3

backdated monday july 28th bcos the camera was with gx who just got back yesterday:

sil chose to have thai food for her bdae. she planned Jerk Thai at X2 mall at novena. bcos of the last minute flight gx had to take to melbourne we changed the venue. lucky there is a branch at T3. bcos we were packing the luggage, looking for the winter wear... we end up having dinner at about 9+. when we reach there the restaurant was pretty quiet.


the decor here is quite pretty. the odd shape bowls and plates were quite a touch. the only problem was the table was too long cos we had to stretch really far to get food that we ordered for sharing. for sil bdae present we gave her a DKNY watch.

i have pretty mixed review for the food here. the dish that has the minced meat wrapped in cabbage was nice but to compare i prefer the korean style. the tofu was quite nice. as for the squid, didnt like it as it had this raw, smell and taste of the sea. very much like the seafood in venice!


the green curry was not too bad. the seafood dongfen seems to be the best noodle dish chosen by my mil, was best among all the noodles we had. i had pork soup noodles and bcos i had the home-made version just 3 weeks ago, this fare pale to what i had tried before. gx and fil took the beef soup kwayteow but found the soup alittle sweet. sil tongfen was different from mil its got more black pepper in it. as for sil bf he ordered very chinese seafood noodles... but his drink order was the best, lychee shake. the shake here unlike in koh samui, they put milk in the shakes here. prefer the ones without milk from ksm. dinner atmosphere was good but i was filled with tots about gx's stay in melbourne. with so many crazy misperhaps happening to planes just the week before, i was worried. he went in early to browse thru dfs and we head home...
