I am 31 on Monday and 30 on Tuesday!

YES no kidding... almost hit the same day that i turn 31 and 3o at the same time!

its my chinese bdae on Monday 23rd. as his parents are always off on monday, we celebrated my chinese bdae at a jap restuarant in tpy central as gerald has midnite shift. straight after school meet my family and we ate dinner at 5pm! we had alot to eat! after dinner gerald got me my 2nd cake (but in total this is my 4th cake) crystal jade chocolate cake. he went bac to work after i got off at mum's place.

as usual am still stuck with my practice to spend time with mum on my bdaes, i was home on sunday nite when he did his 1st mn shift. was home for chinese and angmo bdae. got to cut an ikea princess green' cake with her on my bdae at 5.45am... she refused to take foto with cos she haven change. felt like a big kido again as last time when schooling or working, every morning mum will make me breakfast and sometimes in a hurry i will rush off w/o taking any. i am a crybaby very emotional one. staying with her those 2 nites, i have to wake up at 5.30am compared to staying tpy i wake up at 6.10am. i had time to eat breakfast and chat with her before gog to work. hate the almost wana cryout feeling when i wave bye to her as she stands at the door.

at school, my tcher got the kids to sing me a bdae song as i walked in. they all each draw me something on A4 paper and bound it together and gime as a card. they write the sweetest and funniest things. love kids drawings. also their parents contributed cash to treat me to a meal at my favourite restaurant. my tcher said she haven got the voucher as she say i will be able to guess the gift she is preparing if she ask me which is my favourite restaurant. she offer to either gime me the cash or i tell her where i wan the vouchers from. I chose recommendation from her. She gets to intro her restaurant to me. That way i get to go new places! May, my collegue got me my 6th cake, slice of chocolate cake and she even got light candle - lucky only one big candle only! during lunch treat them to an ikea almond cake, nice and i am gog to get more. I used to get the one with daim chocolate in it. another collegue SHF sang me a bdae song in Tamil! Got a nice flower cup with chocolates from Ms RHY. Tabby got me a turtle... haha not TMNT! she always hear me say shoulder ache (old wound) so she got me this turtle that i can hit my shoulder with! also she got a "cake" hp holder for me. prob bcos i always drop my hp?
(so nostalgic rite...)

After school went home to change and headed off with Gerald who kept mum about wheres he's bringing me for dinner. i started guessing where since last week. it drove me crazy not being able to guess where exactly! his hints was mosqitoes - so must be outdoor so i guess botanical gardens and all the parks all wrong. then next clue not near...must drive. chinese food. and i got say i wanna go one! that drove me nuts! but when we were in the car i still try to guess... and bcos he was heading vanda road and i started narrowing down the nearby areas, it suddenly hit me that it was the paper chicken place, that was mention long ago prob 5 years ago or even more! he was diappointed i guessed it even before we were near the place... but he proudly tell me theres part 2...

this is what we came for... 15 of it for jus 2 of us!

The union farm eating house... is painted yellow and green...on high ground...stilts? it looked like a temple from far as they have the 4-faced buddha and lots of big pineapple hanging around... very ulu got alot of plants, dun tink they renovate the place over so many, many years the decor very 70s... so nostalgic. YES, alot of food as we didnt expect them to be such huge portion. The "chee pow kai" is of cos a must (sweet not much saltyness...),the noodles are so plain, kinda different type of noodles fried with oyster sauce and some seasoning and that few leafys... bland but in olden days its the way they eat i guess. very oldie homecook food was the fried beancurd! didnt expect so many leh. crispy outside and sooooo soft inside. no taste one must dip chilli. but its jus the style i guess. only new thing last time sure dun have is soft shell crab. and they are huge. we were filled! food average, i expected more. ambience okie where else to find, not many in spore left but i hate the mosqitoes. when i told mum where we went for dinner, she told me my grandpa brought her there when she was young. gog to bring my grandpa here and of cos my mum too! but will have to spray insect repellent 1st!

we then drove off to his next surprise that he planned. i guessed railway place cos its was nearby but he turned into sunset way. he tot the place was in the neighbourhood lowrise hdb but i told him to drive straight to see wats further in the neighbourhood. so he drove in to explore what there in the private estate. in there was a building a small shopping centre and i was telling him wow got cake place and ice-cream in here so weird. but i helped him find the place he wanted to bring me. sheer luck. if not i will be walking round and round the hdb area. His plan was there are TWO dessert place to try! we are still sooooo full so we went in to the cake shop to take alook 1st then we decided to dabao the cakes and eat the ice-cream there.
its called the daily scoop. they make their own ice-cream and create some flavours of their own. got to sample some before deciding. for fun we tried some that we know we will not order. 1st was the chilli choc... as the name says it all ... the chocolate was so rich and so BROWN yums but when the little pcs that i tried goes down my throat then it started to BURN! chilli hot. YIKES! YUCKS! HOT! quite like the giner crunch but gx hates it, avocado jus tasted like the fruit itself. to cut the trying we jus ordered 2 scoops each on a choc cone. i chose Lychee Martini - tasted more lychee wheres the martini??? asked gerald.. and he wanted rum & raisins (tot honey vanilla mit be good, he dun like vanilla) had simply chocs - it was to die for! with Kahlau krunch - soooo coffeeeeee so bitter! he say taste like drinking espresso. got more flavours some that were on the namecard was not available that day.

Lucky we preordered some of the cakes well its the Mille Crepes that were selling very fast!
this shop is famous for its MILLE CREPES. i guess the name comes from the almost 1mm crepes, layered layers after layers and in bewteen its cream... they have 5 types and the original was soldout. so we bought the chocolate- look at the many layers....and the pic with 3 similiar top is durian, apple and chocolatechip filling the top os caramilized. sinful! he does sell normal cakes so we got blackforest, best ever chocolate, mango cheese and blueberry cheesecake. YES i know you all are gog to scream. he seriuosly allowed me to get them cos we will not come back too soon, its far from our place and its unreachble for me. he dotes me. he said thats bcos its my bdae... so no more nice treatment till next april... the stitch tee cute right! i got the white one!

VERDICT: tried the apple mille and black forest with my mum-in-law last nite, blackforest is very normal can skip, the apple was refresing but cannot beat the chocolatechip mille i shared with gx this morning! i fed him the 1st bite while he drove me to sch... he say its nice... really nice the layers and the cream with little chocochips... i love it. later when MIL back we will try the choc and durian mille. think the cheesecake can wait... anyway lost count of the number of cakes i had for this year...

Diet next week! .... my goal 6kgs... could b more now! dun ask me to weigh!
... we still got a brunch to go too !!!
