26th-27th March 2007 (Monday)
love Macau! went there by ferry on our 3rd day. its rained. water was choppy. we slept for about 1hr on the ferry. reached our hotel, dumped our luggage and off we headed for the food. by accident we found cafe de nata, famous oso for eggtarts. we had cheesecake which was alittle different... grape flavoured. then we headed to Taipa, a small town for crab porridge, YUMMY! crab roe all mixed with the porridge. small crab thou unlike Singapore CRABS... but still its good a big bowl for 2 of us.

but within an hour we found our porkbun without difficulty... i left all Macau info in Singapore. but the town is small and lucky we decided to walk around to digest and found the famous porkbun. they were opened but will only serve porkbun at 3pm. so we had time but seriuosly hardly much thou ... so in 1hr time we had the yummiest porkbun. love the loaf they baked and of cos the pork! Gx had beef noodles, macau style. He's the man while waiting he saw beef so he order to try... i dun eat beef so he had so much more than i did!

we headed to next village, Coloane. Lord Stow cafe. they serve the best eggtarts i have ever eaten. we were very full so we shared one. (we did packed 5 takeaways for his cousin and our breakfast back in HK) BuT ... we still ordered 2 more desserts... famous SERADURRA and their shop's own recipe tiramiSTOW. we love it! its GOOD! went walking to burn the food we had in our tummy. Korean Show Princess hours was filmed here. Xavier Chruch was in bright yellow and they have a nice sky blue mural. its so quiet here and it feels like jus 2 of us - seriously not many around.

next headed to hac sa beach for portugese dinner at Fernandos. My sis said the food is fantastic and it is... jus that we were really had too much... but still we went ahead to order 4 dishes - clams, roast piggy, roast chicken, soup(yucky) and their bread is nice but HUGE! had an alcholic cocktail, Sangaria - red wine, sprite, orange and lemon slices. quite nice. then went to see the night view of Ruin of St. Paul then to the Casinos. it was a LONG day.

27th March 2007 (Tuesday)
was nervous the next morning cos heading to Macau Tower to do the skywalk. its fun but i was nervous still even to the end. skywalk was quite an experience. Gerald's a daredevil - no kick but it is still interesting. he wants to do the skyjump if we ever go bac! headed bac to st paul, na cha temple got more local snacks for breakfast and sat at Macau local stall for lunch *he had curry oxtail noodles and the curry cannot be drank... so oily! then bac to HK!

took our 1st MINIBUS in HK. u really hav to shout to the bus driver where you wanna stop. alighted at Singapore International School and met up with his cousin. She treated us dinner at JUMBO seafood. we took a short ferry out to the sea to the floating ship restaurant. EXpensive dinner, food was good and totally forgot to take pics as we were catching up for the last time before we leave her apartment.

28th March 2007 (Wednesday)
arrived at Kimberly hotel, we were early so we dump luggage went shopping at silvercord, found the dessert sis recommended (better than XU LIU SHAN), ferry terminal, avenue of stars to walk and then headed bac. Police Drama. real HK police drama and its at our hotel. we were not allowed in. heard its a suicide, not sure didnt wana know. after almost 1hr we checked in and then rushed out to catch symphony of lights at avenue of stars. of many nights in HK, its was the coldest we had so we went to starbucks to keep warm.

Felix! one of my wish... to be at the phippe starck restaurant! Arrived at 9.45pm we headed to the bar as our dinner is at 10.15pm. LOVE IT! the experience was worth the money. the ambience, food, cutlery, the the TOILETS are unbelievable. personally LOVE IT, the bar - esp the hooks for the glasses *pretty stylish, the furniture, the interior decor to die for. LOve my guy, he didnt regret it he like the experience. BUT ITS ex. IT cost us S$300. Peninsula Hotel is so class... higher class then Raffles. when we left at about past 12mn, not many phamtoms rolls royce seen prob all out taking their guest around HK. so class.

29th March 2007 (Thursday)
next morning had the softest bolou bao. its so good. again he had beef... but everytime he tried its so different and they have all the COW parts! only when we came bac in a food mag i bought then we know the chai chan teng infront of our of hotel is famous! so lucky! their food is not bad. its our 8th anniversary on 29th march, we celebrated at disneyland HK. wholeday walking around, taking photos and rides. best way to end the trip is to watch the fireworks! beautiful. best buy was my potato head from toystory! haven wear out stitch tees. will post pic, the tee is cute!

30th March 2007 (Friday)
after breakfast at the same cafe, we spend almost whole morning at Lautau Island's Buddha. we took cablecar up, its a long trip. saw the airport, jus land and sea scenery all the way. the buddha stautue was HUGE! i find it very peaceful. the stairs were many but its worth it. headed to shatin to the entry-free snoopy park. ITS ALL ABOUT SNOOPY! so many characters, some larger then lifesize! we love snoopy, thats why we skipped gog to the other temples.... had a very yummy fish-soup noodles sis recommended. i had sharkfins in my noodles and shark meatballs... his porkchop noodles were yummy.

the walk was endless when we went ladies street and walked all the way to Yau ma tei and lucky found my favourite steamed milk but we tried steam egg instead not as good... alittle disappointed. regretted walking into a da pai dong which was very dirty but lucky the food tasted good and we didnt have stomach aches. walked all the way bac to hotel... packed up and ready to go home.

31st March 2007 (Saturday)
last minute hk biscuit shopping and ended up with a huge bag. went to Hk bookstore to look for chinese-english hong kong dessert cookbook... found 2 NICE ONES! the otr is on western food but they are the latest kind of dishes served in cafes. esp the chocolate lava cake... waiting for june and will cook and bake! Love buying recipe books in the country we been too but in Europe didnt get a chance. nice way and best place to end our HK tour was at Charlie brown cafe that we chance upon! the cake was awesome. really good chocolate cake. the place was filled with characters from snoopy. on our way bac to hotel pop into another chachanteng, had our last HK tea (nice and thick) and he had satay beef noodles then bac to hotel to check out. crossed the tsingma bridge as we took airport bus shuttle. Hong Kong Island *moments*

alot of my friends even my relatives except my family tot i been to Hong Kong before. Nope its my 1st time and gx too. so we are with a map all the time, very tourisy... many frens been there before told us where to go ... we had like 6 days in HK and 1.5days in Macau... but somehow we took it slow and we didnt cover all the places we had on our list.

24th March 2007 (Saturday)
Arriving in HK airport, we didnt like the way we got our passport stamped, the q was a snake q seems endless, slow and inefficient. Jus few days before we flew, we heard a radio news report they are ranked 2nd. The ceiling was low i felt hot and stuffy. can't really feel aircon. sadly when we got our luggage my sis luggage strap was missing. we took the airport express quite ex but its fast and comfortable. got off at hong kong station and took a cab to XM apartment. i never knew HK was actually that hilly, apartments and building all on different levels and some so near the roads and bridges. headed straight to Causeway Bay by bus. 1st stop we got dap's recommendation - krispy kreme donuts. we got a dozen. we tried one at the shop and the rest were our supper and breakfast. XM oriented us and we left by ourselves to explore.
we walked all the way to wanchai after eating noodles with loads or szechuan salted veg. I find the taste interesting but i dun really fancy it. endless walk and prob on the wrong street so we headed back to causeway bay and we tried HK "stick" snacks. dun like the fishballs, the beefballs gx had was like big and gravy burst out on his 1st bite. I loved the deep fried intestine. I dun like eating organs but this was yums. we were lucky as we bumped into the milk pudding shop that XM wanted to bring us but took a wrong turn earlier in the afternoon. Loved the cold milk pudding. round the corner found the GOD shop dap recommended. interesting. end of 1st day.
25th March 2007 (Sunday)
2nd day was dianxin breakfast @ a restaurant in a mall near XM place. lucky there was 3 of us so we can order more to try. like our Spore cha xiu bao better. then we both headed for central area, 1st stop was some shopping centre near where we got off dun recall the name but is HK art festival week, so lucky got to see about 4 artwork by salvador dali! then next was to find my favourite shopping mall in europe. H&M opened in HK like mayb 2 weeks ago and couldn't help it being excited. got 2 sweats and a spag top, gx got a belt and a tee. madonna's line was more smart-casual dressy, dun have any tees from her.
its pretty much of a food day cos we walked to find my sis favourite wantan min. we ate again in less then 2 hours. No dry all soup. theres' like 1.5 crunchy prawns in each wantan. the noodles are crunchy and thinner then spore's meekia. we had a hard time finding this shop. this is the one gx followed my sis dot on the map. lucky we found the right one. then bad news... we ran outa battery for our camera. YES we had spare batt but its not charged. took sis cam out all her 3 batts oso not charged. nite plans were all photo-taking spots. so no choice we headed bac to charge the batt. gx couldn't believe all 5 batts were out and we wasted 3 hours to and fro to central. i took the chance to change, he did the same too. the bus ride showed us the many streets of HK. the normal daily life of HKers.
we headed straight for dinner at Yung Kee. Helen & my sis recommended us to have goose and suckling pig here. we ordered 2 different types of abalone soup and their award-winning prawn dish. this restuarant according to a pg on their menu was voted 15 in the world and only chinese restaurant by forbe-(hope i got the name right). next we took the tram to the peak, saw all the "wax"stars and saw the symphony of lights at the peak. then we headed to Lan Kwai Fong. always tot its a much bigger place and really long street. It was not.
dap recommended us to try arabic but cos she didnt have the name we chose a Lebianese restaurant and pub. after sitting down, i told gx this place looked familiar. it was a setting where the movie (he's a woman, she's a man) was filmed . he was pretty sure i was right. they didnt have the apple cinnamon tea dap recommended but they had some kinda fried eggplant. we still ordered not sure if its the same as the one dap ate. lucky it was good. we ate the tomato based eggplant which didn't looked fried but more like a stew with pita bread. gx tried his 1st SHISHA. he chose apple flavour. its a water-piped smoke thing, but he say no kick, feel nothing one but still got smoke coming outa him. the top is filled with charcoal and water is in the contaniner at the bottom. with tat headed home for donut and prepared for Macau. we stayed a nite at Macau on 26th March.
27th March 2007 (Tuesday)
after spending 1.5 days @ Macau, we headed bac to HK and we took the xiuba (HK mini bus) to meet XM at Singapore International School, thats where she teach. we then took a short walk to take a ferry to JUMBO for dinner. she gave us a treat...its expensive here. only took the soup we had and totally forgotten to take pics of rest of the dishes. next day we headed to Kimberly hotel @ kowloon side to stay for the next 3 days.

1st highlights of HK & Macau

after a whole week in HK and Macau ... am feeling tired now.

everyday we travel, walked... climbed the slopes, shop and most of all EAT! thats like almost hourly thing (just kidding but feels like it) loads of food, with sis and dap's recommendations we tried to cover as much. almost did it but we did skip some as they were out of the way or we are exhausted. but we are lucky in fact very cos either we dun have full info or wrong spot on the map but eventually we get there... really ALWAYS happens. Gerald is superb with the map. my navigator. i travel more with inituitions. when we couldn't find the wantan min (cos cantonese sounding) i insisted turning back the other way and YES my sis located her pen dot on the map a little too far from the original spot. he's considered patient and yes i will insist so he has to take my nonsense but thank goodness i got it right! Happy in the end always get what we were looking for.

Hong Kong is not as much as i imagine it to be. ITS SMELLY And didn't expect it to that dirty, the air - i mean! its polluted! my contact lense is so dry and ERRRR filled with dirt. and i met digusting men on the tram and YES the tot make me puke. happy tots.... must forget the unpleasentness. we arrive on SAT and we had a shock at the crowd at causeway bay.

Macau was nice. the countryside part was easy nothing much to see but eat and food is good.
Lord Stow was good. eggs tarts was jus really nice. the other 2 desserts were yums too. was at all the spots the korean tv serial forgot the name the princess show. even met the guy who gave the princess the tarts. met him when we went to buy eggtarts bac for XM cousin. Coloane was simple but Lord Stow is a good reason to be there. had portugese food at Fernandos good recommedation from sis and of cos we had crab porridge and pork bun. didnt bring address totally dun know y i left it in singapore but we manage to get around. we did the macau walk yes i am scared of heights but i managed to crawl thru it.... fun but freak out when i did the one leg balance foto shot!

Hong Kong ... Felix @ the Peninsula was spectacular. smaller than i have imagine. but still different. very unique. Philip Stark is weird but talented. food is good the chocolate is to die for. Serena this is the place u should jus go if u stopby in HK! but fotos wot turn out nice cos is dark in this restuarant.

will update in detail later cos took lots of fotos esp food... we hardly shop ... but we both bot a watch each and perfumes. i got more sweaters, a few tops but simple ones but he got like jus a few tees... best buy would be MY POTATO HEAD from disney. so excited they had it cos i was hoping to get one.

actually got a even more interesting story... something i dun think anyone has experience during their holiday... POLICE SCENE in HK ... moreover happening at our HOTEL. when we checked out of XM cousin house (right at the bottom of HK island) after 3 nite stay and after 1 and half day @ macau... we headed to Tsim Sha Tsui to stay for next 3 nites. when we headed back to hotel to check in and intended to shower to prepare for felix ... we were blocked out of our hotel as police rush in with GUNS, full length shotguns attached with huge calibre rounds, bullet-proof vests and many police vans and oso REPORTERS who dun wan their life wan. interesting leh ... i gota go get fotos done... haven send for developing this time round quite lazy ... SO TIRED and i had 1st day cramps... sad.
