cultural vegetarian gastronomic experience

ann called and i got her to go with me to simalu to pray. first i went to get my beads. i saw it last week with dap and i wanted it but went home to consider. Managed to convince gx to buy for me! He's so sweet! very happy to have got it. after prayer i went to get more preseved apricots! they are really good! bought them right opposite the guanyin temple. head for lunch at fortune centre vegetarian stall... never really fancy veg meals cos of the gluten dishes. but still i wanted to try how close the gungbao chicken taste so i ordered... if not i usually stick to veg and tofu. the dishes were very cold and the hot rice were much needed to eat teh dishes with it thou i didnt wana eat so much rice... brought ann to eat the mango dessert at ice monster. she loved it.

we then walked thru bugis village and looked thru the sale at topshop. ann bot a necklace. went across the bugis shopping centre to check out ktv rates and there was a good bargain for $16 u get to sing from 11am-6pm! but it was 4pm so we decided to skip. then wanting to cheer ann up i brought her to a chinese dessert shop. thank goodness they have yam dessert. she loves yam.

thank goodness she joined me today if not i would not have walked so far and get fed with good vegetarian alternatives! ordered both peanut and black sesame paste to try and found that it taste better mixed together! ann liked the yam i was ok with it cos i am not a super fan of too much coconut and yam.

antique bowl for sink? just read in feng shui books that its bad to use GOLD toilet bowls and sink... its means u wash away your luck and wealth... is this considered no good too???

the decor of the place is very chinese but the decor not over, just nice. the nicest piece of antique would be the door! we walked on and i decided to check out a cheongsam shop.

continue with chinese ... i checked out a modern cheongsam shop. wanted to get something for sis's tea ceremony. love the fitting room! furry white wall and the colourful flowery seat... this cheongsam dress is made of silk, not cheap but i find it still ok... will visit the shop again in Oct. we then decided to take bus back to tpy and find vegetarian at the foodcourt... then when the bus turn before little india, ann suggested we go eat indian vegetarian food! its better than having chinese veg food. I dun detest chinese veg, my favourite chinese veg dish is the vegetarian beehoon but must be from amk ave 4 market! we walked a long way to mustafa shopping centre! i was amazed at how the carrots and radish were displayed! so many and this is the only shop that we saw stall that displayed their veg in huge piles!!!

after the long walk, we finally reached the vegetarian restaurant. first you q to order then take your receipt and sit down to wait for your order number to appear. then go to the counter and pick up the food. same for drinks. the receipt has the order printed in english and indian chaacters. I ordered a cheese naan set while she had the rocket thosai.

i ordered ginger tea and ann tried the chiku milkshake. the chiku milkshake was not bad a little sweet and very milky. can taste and nibble on the little tiny bits of the chiku fruit! the cheese naan was good! i like it with the beany spice sauce best. ann liked it too. the thosai was very cripsy at first and i like it when it was crispy. it got soft after awhile when it cools down. it was good with the green condiment. i didnt really fancy the veg kebabs thou... ann was still fine with it but we didnt finsh it. this was a very nice vegetarian dinner! i am so lucky that ann was with me if not i mit end up cooking veg instant noodles for dinner!

we parted and i head back to tpy by bus. once home i was thrilled to be a owner of a tiffany blue crystal bangle. its Amazonite crystal. and its properties are to calm my mind and heart. dispel negative thoughts and brings me good luck.
