Hot and Cold Canapes!
after my 3rd baking class which started from 11am-2pm... i stayed on for my next class. my first savoury class here. i only wanted to take the module 1 of Western Techniques. i like canapes cos they are very good for parties. French Chef Francois is the executive chef at the Flutes at The Fort.
my favourite canape learnt here is Smoked Duck and Parmesan Stick! especially when this is baking! smelt so good! when eaten hot, its heavens! what i came here to learn was stuffed button mushrooms. i was glad i came! gx loves these. Lamb Kofta with Tzatiki sauce. this was nice but this needed a little more seasoning thou but i like this.
Crab Spring Roll, a very good alternative to the vietnamese spring rolls i made before, i like this much better and its easier to do and nicer to eat cos the original ones have too much veg. Seared tuna tataki, the sauce that was served with this nice piece of tuna is very nice, very fragrant.
Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes, Blinis with Smoked Salmon, Salmon Tartare on Cucumber and Avocado, Tofu and Sundried Tomatoes Kebab are good for parties too. there were many people in this class. they were all taking the entire 6 courses.
i was first to arrive and last to go... Gx was kind enough to stay in the office for almost the whole day. thinking i would end late and also he didnt see the time, thus when i called he needed time to pack up. then the staff at the school was kind enough to allow me to wait for him indoors. when he came she asked us to finish up the canapes i made before going. this was our lunch. happened that he and i didnt have lunch. i have a chocolate class next sunday and i signed up more savoury cooking classes. looking forward to attending the classes!
