mum's chinese bdae

right after saturday bdae party with all family members, we celebrate mum's chinese bdae which happens to fall on Sunday a day before her angmo bdae on monday. Sis planned Monday's dinner. I didnt want mum to cook on her chinese bdae too so i brought whole family out for simple dinner. cos mum wanted to eat fish head curry last sunday but we didnt go cos sis treat sushi, i found a new place to try out.

we head to Upper bukit timah road, ate at the zhicha store in this coffeeshop. Its call Ga-Hock Seafood. this place was recommended by my collegue. we were there early reached there for dinner at 5pm. i was glad to be there early cos the crowd set in pretty fast. Besides the fish head curry, i was very eager to try the salt-baked crab. my collegue loved it and told me its a must try!

With her advice, i pre-booked my table and also order the longevity bun and longevity noodles. the noodles was ok not fantastic thou. those little orangy thing is not tomatoes, its quails' eggs. the fish head was not too bad. the fish is very fresh. this curry has very strong coconut flavour. nice.

we ordered venison and tofu dishes and we were quite full. lucky for us for the salt baked crab, we gota wait for quite a while. when it was served, its just plain orangy crab with no sauce. i was worried... when i tried it, i fell in love with it! the shell has got a very salty taste, but the crab meat was so sweet and succulent! its got all the crab juicy sweetness when u bite into it! love it... can taste the freshness of the crab.

for this dinner i invited my uncle and aunt to join us cos i wana thank them. they invited my mum along for their beijing trip. after the dinner, my uncle invited us to pines club for a drink. we were in the founders club. we had the whole place to ourselves. this little room we were in face the swimming pool. before bro and gf left to attend wedding dinner, they played a game of billard with gx and dan.

we chatted and laughed and drank. after a few good hours of chatting, we head home. i was exhausted and i am still on medication cos my nose is still very blocked...
