Mum's bdae part iii

after school met ann. we went to chinatown and went in search for the dessert store. for lunch i only ate cracker and biscuits cos i was saving my stomach for dinner. but got really hungry after school. my dear cousin A is crazy about anything thats yammy! thats right spelling she loves YAM! got her to come along to visit this dessert store that i have been waiting to check out cos i heard about this place long time ago.

we walked the wrong way and we ended up walking in a loop before finding the dessert store. guessed many people who loves dessert knows about this place. For a 4pm afternoon and almost unable to find a seat, tells how good the dessert is! we ordered a plate of yam and carrot cake to share. suppose to have pumpkin cake but that was sold out. the carrot cake is yummy but i find the yam cake too pepperish. ann loved her yam onee. i find it ok. i ordered the mango pomelo sago dessert. its good but then maybe i didnt feel well, i should be really excited cos it was really not too bad... there was enough sweet mango cubes in this dessert. we wanted to order another dessert to share but i stop cos i have ten course dinner waiting for me! we are gog back next week to try other desserts.
parted with ann, i went in search for aircondition at OG. after meeting gx we stroll to the restuarant sis and dan chose. we got a private room on the 4th level. when we got there we were surprised that the room comes with karaoke. here the decor pretty old style but i like the setting. here they have their restaurant name and logo all on their plates, bowls, teapot, even on the rosewood chairs!

before gog to OG i walked all the way to get mum this box of mooncake. its not the lianrong type, its the mixed nuts mooncake. very old school but this is where i got my cantonese style wedding cakes. for my wedding i chose traditional cakes cos modern cakes are available everyday. not many occasions we will get to order tradition chinese cakes. as for the pic i took with mum, can't remember what was said but i couldn't help laughing out loud. this room is pretty nicely decorated. simple, modern, nice.

the peach bun served here is so dainty. as for the cold dish, the shredded egg looks plain but it taste the best! it was so yummy. shark fin soup smelt so good! even thou i still have a block nose i could smell. i didn't take pictures of all the food we ate because i was busy entertaining my twin cousins. we ate quite a few dishes and they were very nice!

this meal cost a bomb. a treat from my future bil... a big thanks to him cos the dinner was really good. they had a pretty good deal cos they order the set dinner and its some kind of anniversary promo, we were given a roasted suckling pig. sis and i tot it mit be a little piglet but it was much bigger! good deal cos the skin crackles when you sink your teeth on it.

bro and gf got mum 2nd bdae cake. mango cake. we were probably the last to leave the restaurant cos prob its monday, they didnt have many people dining at the restuarant. love the shot i had with mum. she was really happy. she said she felt like a queen for the last 3 days. do nothing and go out for good meals and relax. i wish that i could provide her such life everyday... how? when? ... for now i can only do what i can...

also love this shot with gx. feels like some lantern festival shot. next sunday is our 3rd chinese wedding anniversary... every lunar mooncake festival is our big day! we got married on the 15th day of the lunar 8th month.
